Kelsea Ballerini is facing something every dog mom dreads.

Kelsea Ballerini, known for her song “Love Me Like You Mean It,” asked her fans to send positive thoughts after sharing that her dog, Dibs, who was diagnosed with cancer in August 2024, needed an urgent medical treatment.

The mother shared on Instagram September 24th that her baby son is having unexpected surgery today. She asked for positive thoughts, prayers, and well wishes, believing they’ve already helped him a lot.

Kelsea, who recently broke up with Chase Stokes from the show *Outer Banks*, announced last year that her goldendoodle had been diagnosed with a serious illness.

She shared on Instagram that their dog, Dibby, has an incurable heart cancer. Thankfully, he’s currently comfortable and the cancer hasn’t spread. They’re starting him on medication hoping to give him as much happy and comfortable time as possible – whether that’s weeks, months, or longer.

Despite her positive attitude, the singer revealed that dealing with Dibs’ health issues was a difficult and emotionally challenging experience.

He’s been a huge part of my life and a constant source of support for the past nine years, and he’s been with me every step of the way. I know many of you care about him and are sending positive thoughts and love, and I’m so grateful for that.

Even while Kelsea was battling cancer, she and her dog, Dibs, continued to enjoy happy moments together. She recently posted a picture of Dibs wearing a colorful party hat and a “Birthday Boy” bib, celebrating a special occasion for her furry friend.
