Kendra Wilkinson Reveals Why She’s Starting GLP-1 Medication

Kendra Wilkinson isn’t buttoning up about her latest lifestyle choice.

The former Playboy model recently explained why she decided to start using GLP-1 medication to help her lose weight.

Kendra recently told Us Weekly that it’s frustrating to consistently work out without seeing results. She’s happy with where she is in life as she approaches 40, but has noticed her clothes are fitting a little snugger, and she’s not eager to go shopping for new ones.

The former Girls Next Door star, who has two children – 16-year-old Hank and 11-year-old Alijah – with her ex-husband Hank Baskett, joked that she needs to get back into her old jeans because she’s trying to save money.

But she isn’t looking to make a major transformation.

She said she wasn’t aiming to be thin, just to feel healthy and comfortable in her clothes again. She wanted to find a good balance and get back in shape.

The real estate agent is now prepared to start using the weight loss medication, almost a year after initially considering it.

She announced on Instagram in April that she tried a weight loss shot, but quickly changed her mind. “Only did one. Nevermind. Throwing away!!” she wrote.

As for why she decided against the move at the time? The potential side effects.

She later mentioned she was fine with gaining a bit of weight, explaining she’s generally happier with her life now. She’d heard a lot of difficult stories from people around her, which influenced her perspective.

Kendra hasn’t been afraid to address comments about her body, including the criticism she’s seen on social media.

In January 2025, she shared on Instagram that she had gained weight and was getting older, acknowledging she’s changed from her past self. She expressed feeling good and mentally healthy for the first time in a while, prioritizing her children above all else. She feels balanced, enjoying working out, cooking, playing golf, and focusing on her work, all while managing everything without a housekeeper or nanny.

I’m finally in a really good place – truly happy, healthy, and at peace. I’ve done a lot of work to get here, and honestly, I just need some space and respect to enjoy this new chapter. I’m exactly where I want to be, and I’m finally feeling whole.

Okay, so Kendra’s finally doing something about her health, which is AMAZING! But honestly, I’m way more interested in finding out which other celebrities have quietly been using weight loss meds. I need to know everything – I’m totally obsessed with hearing their stories and what’s been working for them!

Before appearing on Dancing With the Stars, the star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives publicly shared that she was using semaglutide injections – medications known as Ozempic and Wegovy – to help with weight loss.

I’m a big fan, and she shared something amazing back in January 2023! She talked about having this ‘secret sauce’ that’s really helping her get rid of fat – she explained it as basically just flushing it out of her system. That’s how she sees it, anyway, and I’m so excited to try it!

In October 2025, the star of Queer Eye revealed they began using a GLP-1 medication after experiencing a health issue in 2023.

Jonathan shared in a TikTok video that after experiencing a health problem, he planned to get a colonoscopy. If the results were clear, he intended to start using a GLP-1 medication, as he simply wasn’t feeling well.

Jonathan shared that he’s in the best shape of his life after losing weight and starting Pilates at Solidcore. He said, “I’ve always wanted abs, and I finally have them!” He also mentioned feeling so good about his body that he’s been showing it off more often by taking his shirt off.”

Even after losing 70 pounds with medication, Jonathan continued to champion body positivity.

They explained that they believe in body neutrality – the idea that your value as a person isn’t tied to how you look. Everyone deserves love and appreciation, regardless of their body type.

The comedian started taking the diabetes drug Mounjaro in late 2022. By May 2025, she had lost a significant amount of weight, which she publicly showed off.

I seriously can’t believe this is my body now! I just posted on Instagram about it, using #mounjaro, #weightloss, and… it’s weird, I also added #bodydismorphia because even though I’m losing weight, I’m still struggling with how I see myself. It’s a whole thing, honestly.

Meghan Trainor and her husband, Daryl Sabara, bonded closely after welcoming their son, Riley, in 2021. They took on the intense 75 Hard challenge together and felt great doing it, as Meghan shared on their podcast, Workin’ On It. Soon after, they started hearing from friends and even doctors who were using medications like Mounjaro and Ozempic.

Both Daryl and I chose the smallest effective dose of Mounjaro, and we’re combining it with exercise and healthy eating,” explained the singer behind “All About That Bass.” “We began this health journey together.”

Kendra Wilkinson, known from Girls Next Door, tried a weight loss injection, but only used it once. She announced on Instagram in April 2025 that she’d started the shots, then quickly added she was stopping and getting rid of it.

The model said she decided it wasn’t worth risking her health. She’d heard about too many people getting seriously sick and needing emergency room visits and surgeries, and she wanted to avoid that at all costs, especially as a mother of two.

In March 2025, the host of the Golden Globes spoke out in support of Ozempic, encouraging people to feel comfortable discussing their use of the medication.

She enthusiastically shared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she fully supports anyone considering Ozempic, saying, ‘I’m like, ‘Do it!’ I have no problem with it at all – if someone wants to try it, go for it!’

She explained that she wants to break down the shame surrounding weight loss, because she believes that shame actually comes from people who prefer you to stay larger. They get upset when you start to lose weight, she said, because they feel threatened by your growth and positive qualities. It’s as if your confidence and personality are what truly bother them.

The model stated in December 2024 that she previously used Ozempic, but she discontinued it when she began competing on Dancing With the Stars the prior autumn.

Nader admitted to trying the trend when it first became popular, like many others. He said it made him feel sick to his stomach, but he actually enjoyed it. However, he couldn’t continue while also competing on Dancing with the Stars.

Brooks explained that the medication made her lose some of her drive and energy to exercise. She chose to focus on dancing instead, and stopped getting injections.

In November 2024, Dog the Bounty Hunter’s daughter revealed she’d lost 58 pounds over ten months by changing her diet and using the medication Tirzepatide. She said she now feels proud of her progress and how she looks.

Before finding a solution that worked for her, she had a difficult experience with Ozempic. She told TopMob News, “I really disliked it. It made me feel nauseous whenever I tried to eat, and sometimes I couldn’t eat anything at all. My body just didn’t react well to it.”

The star of The Real Housewives of New York City addressed rumors about her noticeable transformation between seasons 14 and 15.

She explained to Us Weekly in October 2024 that it’s common for people on reality TV to face speculation about cosmetic procedures like plastic surgery or weight loss drugs. She specifically said she strongly dislikes Ozempic and would never inject herself with it.

After fans on social media began to wonder if Lizzo had used the drug Ozempic to lose weight, sparked by a recent photo showing her slimmer physique, the singer responded with a video. The video featured a popular sound clip from the movie Django Unchained, spoken by Christoph Waltz’s character, who says, “It’s like a reward.”

Later, though, the musician admitted she gave some injectibles a shot.

Lizzo explained to Trisha Paytas on the Just Trish podcast in June 2025 why she stopped taking GLP-1 medications before finishing her treatment. She said that medications like Ozempic work by helping you eat less, making you feel full. However, she believes you can achieve the same result by controlling your eating habits and willpower without the medication.

In a September 2024 episode of her podcast, Dream On, Kate Moss’s younger sister shared that starting Ozempic was “the worst decision I ever made.”

The model became sick after accidentally taking a dose of medication intended for someone weighing around 220 pounds or more, and had to be hospitalized.

Honestly, I was absolutely terrified when I had a seizure because I was so dehydrated – it was the scariest experience of my life. I remember my friend having to physically hold my feet down to keep me still. It was awful – my face and entire body just locked up and I couldn’t control it. It was a truly frightening situation.

In April 2024, Jon Gosselin, known from the show Jon & Kate Plus 8, told Page Six he lost 32 pounds over two months using semaglutide injections – the generic version of the drug Ozempic.

“You know what’s annoying?” he said. “The regret of not starting it 10 years ago.”

Ree Drummond, known as the Pioneer Woman, wrote on her blog in March 2024 that she didn’t use Ozempic or any similar drugs to lose 50 pounds in 2022.

She emphasized that she would never criticize anyone for making that life choice.

In August 2023, the actor from 30 Rock shared on Today With Hoda and Jenna that he lost weight using Ozempic, which reduced his appetite.

In March 2024, he revealed a surprising update about his health. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, he joked, “I’ve actually gained 40 pounds – I’ve learned to out-eat Ozempic!”

He later told TopMob News he was just kidding, but also admitted, “Ozempic worked well for me and I’m happy I used it.”

The star of The Real Housewives of Dubai recently revealed she used Ozempic while experiencing a midlife crisis at age 45.

Caroline Stanbury recently discussed the challenges of weight loss after turning 40. On her podcast, Uncut & Uncensored With Caroline Stanbury, she explained that many women asked her how she’d managed to lose weight, and she admitted to using Ozempic, which she believes is a very effective weight loss aid if accessible.

During a July 2024 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star stated she doesn’t use Ozempic. She jokingly clarified, “I’m on Mounjaro, okay!” and added that she enjoys her current weight and has plenty of energy.

A former cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta shared that she wasn’t successful in losing weight using the weight-loss injection.

She explained that a certain treatment didn’t reduce her appetite at all. Unlike some people who lost their desire to eat, she continued to enjoy appetizers, a full meal, and even dessert. She admitted that seeing others succeed with the same treatment while it didn’t work for her left her feeling down and questioning what was wrong with her.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the conversation around medications like Ozempic closely. While I’m not a medical professional and can’t offer medical advice, I’ve seen a lot of information emerge about what’s proving effective and what isn’t. From what I’ve observed, Ozempic can be really helpful for some, but it’s also important to be aware of the potential risks and downsides.

Former Little Mix member Perrie Edwards, who has previously discussed her battle with anorexia, shared that it was challenging to ignore online rumors about her weight and speculation that she was using the drug Ozempic.

In an August 2025 interview with The Guardian, Jade shared her struggle with the temptation to try Ozempic. While she understands why others use it, she worries that, given her past struggles with eating disorders, taking the drug could be problematic for her recovery.

The actress from Beverly Hills, 90210 reportedly used a drug to lose weight after having her son, Beau, in 2017.

She mentioned on her podcast in April 2024 that Ozempic wasn’t effective for her, but Mounjaro helped her lose weight.

The actress explained to Francesca Amiker of TopMob News that it’s crucial to remember medications are prescribed for specific individuals and shouldn’t be used simply for cosmetic reasons.

Raven said, “Take care of what you need to, but please make sure to reserve the medicine for those who really require it.”

In September 2023, the host of Talk U.K. shared that she had lost 42 pounds after using the medication Ozempic earlier that year.

I was so relieved to hear her say that it’s completely okay to use whatever helps you reach your weight loss goals. She told TopMob News that it’s really not something to be ashamed of – it’s not a ‘dirty little secret’ at all if you’ve used something to give you a boost. It’s totally your choice, and she made me feel so much better about it.

She added, “We don’t have to bulls–t.”

Sharon’s daughter has also weighed in on the Ozempic trend.

“It’s fantastic,” the former star of Fashion Police told TopMob News in January 2024. “There are so many ways to lose weight, so why not choose one that’s more enjoyable than just exercising?”

Kate Winslet, known for her role in Titanic and previously scrutinized by the tabloids for her weight, recently spoke about the current trend of focusing on weight loss.

In a March 2024 interview with The New York Times Magazine, Kate confessed she wasn’t familiar with Ozempic, saying, “All I know is that it’s some pill people are taking.”

“Oh, my God,” Kate remarked after learning about the injectable. “This sounds terrible.”

In December 2023, the star of The Hills shared that she had recently lost 22 pounds without using Ozempic. She told Page Six that she believes there are no easy fixes when it comes to weight loss, and she wouldn’t consider using the drug herself, or name other celebrities who might be. She emphasized that she doesn’t approve of taking shortcuts.

Heidi said she’s looking for something sustainable and isn’t afraid of hard work.

During her June 8, 2023 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, the Trainwreck star publicly criticized celebrities for being dishonest about using Ozempic for weight loss.

She said everyone seems to be trying Ozempic, and people are being dishonest about it. Addressing Andy Cohen, she called out those claiming they’re simply eating smaller portions, saying, ‘Stop lying – you’re either on Ozempic, had similar medication, or you’ve had cosmetic procedures.’

I really admire Senator Schumer’s honesty. She’s always been upfront about things she’s had done, and she puts it best – when I had liposuction, I just told people I had liposuction. It’s so refreshing to see someone be so real!

She shared that she quickly became very interested in Ozempic in 2022, but ultimately stopped taking the medication, which is typically used for Type 2 diabetes. She explained that it interfered with her ability to enjoy time with her son, Gene, making it unsustainable for her to continue.

I remember being too sick to play with my son,” Schumer shared. “I was really thin at the time, and he was throwing a ball at me, but I just didn’t have the strength to participate.

Dr. Drew recently told TopMob News that people generally have complicated reactions to shows like Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test. He explained that while viewers are often fascinated, they also tend to be critical and judgmental.

He added that if a treatment could offer benefits, people should definitely consider trying it.

Forget winter, a hot take is coming.

The actress, known for her role in Game of Thrones, didn’t hesitate to publicly share her thoughts on Ozempic and the ads promoting it.

On April 5, 2023, the actress shared a post on her Instagram Story from writer Sophie Vershbow. Vershbow had tweeted a strong reaction to advertisements for Ozempic, a weight loss drug, that she saw in the Times Square subway station, saying she was very upset by them. The ads Vershbow shared showed messages like “One shot to lose weight” and “A weekly shot to lose weight.”

Turner adding her own commentary, writing, “WTF.”

Novo Nordisk, the company that makes Ozempic, has stated that the drug is not currently approved by the FDA for long-term weight loss.

Novo Nordisk, the maker of Ozempic, stated that while they’ve noticed some doctors prescribing the drug for weight loss, they do not endorse or promote using their medications for purposes other than those officially approved. The company emphasizes its commitment to following all U.S. laws and regulations regarding how it promotes its products. Novo Nordisk also expresses confidence that doctors are carefully considering each patient’s unique health needs when choosing the appropriate treatment.

Comedian Chelsea Handler is speaking out about Ozempic, explaining that her doctor prescribed it to her for anti-aging purposes without fully informing her about the medication.

She mentioned on the January 25, 2023 episode of Call Her Daddy that she hadn’t realized she was trying to lose weight. Someone had told her, ‘If you want to lose five pounds, this will help,’

But while she tried the drug, Handler noted that she didn’t like how it made her feel.

She remembered returning from vacation and immediately using the medication. A few days later, she met a friend for lunch who mentioned feeling sick and taking Ozempic. She realized she felt nauseous too, but initially attributed it to jet lag from her trip to Spain.

Honestly, it was so fascinating to learn that she actually stopped taking it! She said it wasn’t even something she needed medically, which is amazing. And get this – she didn’t just toss the leftovers, she gave them to her friends! Can you believe it? It’s like she wanted to share whatever was helping her with the people she cares about. I’m obsessed with everything about this!

She admitted to giving Ozempic to around four or five friends, explaining she decided against using it herself because she thought it was unnecessary. She described having friends come to her house to receive injections, scheduling appointments throughout the day.

Khloe Kardashian clapped back when commenters on Instagram speculated that she was taking Ozempic.

Honestly, it really bothers me when people dismiss all the hard work I put into my fitness. I’m dedicated – I wake up at 6 AM five days a week to train! It’s frustrating to see so many assumptions made about my body, and it’s disappointing that even at the start of a new year, some people still choose to be unkind.
