Kim Kardashian Explains Viral Video of Her Leaving North West at Hotel

Kim Kardashian is here to keep you up to date on a decade-old rumor.

In my own words, I’d say: As a loyal fan, I can confirm that one of the Kardashians recently clarified an old video from 2014, where she was seen leaving a Paris hotel without North West initially. However, she swiftly turned back to ensure her daughter, North West, wasn’t missed by the awaiting paparazzi, thus quashing speculation that had been around for years suggesting she might have forgotten her daughter outside.

Kim wrote on her Instagram Stories on July 11, “I wanted to display my look first because it didn’t coordinate with hers!” (Kim was wearing a distressed pink hoodie, leggings, and a gray coat at the time.)

She added, “I didn’t forget her!!!!”

Kim had additionally explained that she hadn’t abandoned North – her daughter with ex-husband Kanye West (also known as “Ye”) – soon after the incident. In fact, as she mentioned on X in October 2014, she went to the car to verify the car seat was correctly installed because the day before they had encountered a car seat problem.

 

Kim went on to say, ‘Isn’t it unlikely that a one-year-old is left alone in the lobby?’ She added sarcastically, ‘I guess she was just there to check out!’

These days, it’s hard to miss North, who is now 12 years old. As Kim has said, she’s become a very vocal young teenager.

At the 2025 Met Gala, I gushed to Vogue, “She’s always got something insightful to say about fashion, and I must admit, her discernment is spot-on.

In reality, the mother of four children, who also has offspring named Saint West, aged 9, Chicago West, aged 7, and Psalm West, aged 5, together with Ye, stated that her eldest provides constructive criticism from a truly optimistic standpoint.

In simpler terms, Kim said, “It’s cool if it’s not your taste, but instead of judging, let them be themselves. If they enjoy it, then that’s what they should embrace.” She appreciated that positive vibe.

At North’s anime-themed ninth birthday celebration, Kim and North engage in fun activities centered around the character Kuromi from the show “Fantasy Magic Melody.
