Kim Kardashian is keeping up with her cinched couture.
Without hesitation, the celebrated Kardashian figure is not shy about enhancing her appearance using petite, vintage-style corsets. More recently, she collaborated with Mugler to incorporate yet another waist-narrowing outfit into her wardrobe.
On July 23rd, Instagram saw a stunning post from the 44-year-old, who wore a black bodysuit hailing from the Fall/Winter Haute Couture collection of 1998 by the brand. She aptly referred to the mesh design as “Mugler Magic.” The corset, adorned with a sequin top, matching stockings, and a waist accentuated by boning, gave Kim Kardashian her characteristic fitted silhouette. To make this already captivating look even more mesmerizing, she added a floor-length fur coat.
On a previous occasion, Kim, who has four children with her ex-husband Kanye West (North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5), chose to draw from the timeless designs of the fashion house by wearing Mugler’s bridal corset from their Spring 1998 collection back in October.
Five years before that, she made quite an impression at the 2019 Met Gala wearing a latex beaded gown from the brand. The dress was designed by Thierry Mugler himself, who had come out of retirement for the occasion. However, Kim Kardashian didn’t stop there and also wore a customized corset from Mr. Pearl to add an extra touch of style.
Certainly, those significant moments stood out. However, it was her waist that underwent the most striking change at the 2024 Met Gala. She chose to don a Maison Margiela floral print dress for the occasion. This gown featured a silver chromatic sheen and clung tightly to her waist, mainly because of the lace corset hidden beneath it. The skirt then expanded slightly into a small train.
And although the dress was undeniably the highlight of the evening’s fashion, Kim admitted that slipping into it was quite an ordeal.
Kim expressed to hairstylist Chris Appleton and designer John Galliano during her preparations for the event, as seen in the Feb 13 episode of ‘The Kardashians‘, that she didn’t appear as uncomfortable as she might seem. She explained that what she was wearing was more of a performance piece. Kim added, with admiration for the ‘Bridgerton’ cast who wear similar attire daily, ‘It must be quite challenging.’
