The beauty industry has lost an incredible talent.
I’m absolutely heartbroken! Kim Vo, the amazing hairstylist to the stars – seriously, he did Gwyneth Paltrow and Paris Hilton’s hair, how incredible is that?! – has passed away. His husband, Adeel Khan, just announced it, and I can’t believe it. He was only 55. He fought so hard against colon cancer, and it’s just… devastating. I was such a huge fan of his work, and I’m going to miss seeing his creations so much.
Adeel announced the passing of her husband, Kim Vo, in an Instagram post on January 24th. Kim, who was also her best friend and business partner, died after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2018. He surpassed all expectations thanks to the exceptional care he received from Dr. Lawrence Piro and his team at Angeles Clinic and Cedars-Sinai.
He added, “Ultimately, God decided it was time for our angel on earth to return home.”
Adeel also noted one way that loved ones can keep Kim’s memory alive.
He asked that, instead of sending flowers or other expressions of sympathy after his death, people donate to the Kim Vo Foundation. This foundation supports hair, beauty, and fashion professionals who are also battling cancer.
Following the news of his death, condolences from his former clients poured in.
Nicky Hilton shared a message of love and support, commenting, “He was such a kind and sweet person,” along with a white heart and dove emoji.
I was so saddened to hear about his passing. Tori Spelling said it perfectly – he was truly an amazing person, just radiating light and love. It’s a huge loss, and my heart goes out to everyone who knew him. xo

Kim first gained recognition from Vogue magazine, which hailed him as a top hair colorist – the best in the business, in fact. This made him a well-known figure in Hollywood’s beauty world. He also appeared on television, judging the Bravo competition show Shear Genius and starring in the Paramount+ series Blowing LA.
In his own words, Kim reflected on his success, as well as his legacy, ahead of his death.
Kim Vo Salon shared a statement saying they feel very fortunate to have experienced love, joy, and strong connections both in their personal life and career. While content with everything they have, they want to use their influence and achievements to make a positive impact on others.
I’m grateful for everything I have, and I recognize it’s also thanks to the communities that shaped me. I want to live a life filled with happiness and good health, and that’s what truly matters to me.
