King Charles III and Prince William Make Rare Joint Public Appearance

King Charles IIIand Prince Williamare clearing the air.

On October 9th, the King and his oldest son participated in a special public event called Countdown to COP30, held at the Natural History Museum in London.

Charles and William, without their wives Camilla and Kate, both wore navy suits for an outing at the museum. They met with government officials and climate change advocates before the COP30 World Leaders Summit in Belém, Brazil on November 6th. William will be attending the summit in place of his father.

King Charles and Prince William were last seen together in public on September 17th at Windsor Castle, during the state visit of President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump. Prior to that, the royal family attended a memorial service for Katharine, Duchess of Kent, a cousin of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

William has recently spoken about the challenges the royal family has faced over the past year. He shared how he balanced his responsibilities while both his father and wife were battling cancer.

In a recent episode of the Apple TV+ show *The Reluctant Traveler*, the 43-year-old described 2024 as the most challenging year of their life. They added that life often presents difficulties to help us grow and that overcoming those challenges shapes who we become.

He also spoke about the challenges of raising his and Kate’s three children: 12-year-old Prince George, 10-year-old Princess Charlotte, and 7-year-old Prince Louis.

When William isn’t working, he loves to sleep. As he explained to Eugene Levy, having three young children makes getting enough rest a real priority.

The future king briefly mentioned his brother, Prince Harry, with whom he’s been distant lately, while talking about what his son George’s future as king might look like.

William explained that he considers many factors, but ultimately wants to build a legacy that his son will be proud of. He wants his work to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

He also said he hopes they don’t repeat past mistakes – the kind Prince Harry and he experienced growing up – and that he’ll do his best to prevent a return to those issues.

In October 2025, the King and his oldest son attended the Countdown to COP30 event held at the Natural History Museum in London.

The couple took photos outside the museum and then went inside to discuss climate change solutions with government officials and activists. This meeting happened before the COP30 World Leaders Summit in Belém, Brazil, in November, which Prince William will attend as a representative for his father.

In September 2025, Sarah, Duchess of York, stepped down as a patron of Julia’s House after an old email from 2011 surfaced. The email revealed she referred to Jeffrey Epstein as a friend.

After details emerged this weekend about the Duchess of York’s communication with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has decided it’s no longer appropriate for her to continue supporting the charity as a patron. The charity has informed the Duchess of this decision and expressed its gratitude for her previous contributions, according to The Guardian.

A representative for Ferguson stated that the email was sent following a threat made by Epstein.

After a 19-month absence, Prince Harry was spotted arriving at Clarence House—the King’s home in London—apparently to visit his father before attending another event in the city.

Harry arrived at the house around 5:20 p.m. on September 10th, but Charles had come back just a few hours earlier.

Princess Anne’s son and his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling, announced their engagement on August 1st. They had been dating for over a year. He shares a father, Mark Phillips, with her.

Just a day before turning 78, the royal was made an honorary Vice Admiral by the Royal Navy.

Camilla is the first woman to receive this honorary title. It’s awarded only by the monarch—in this case, her husband, King Charles III—based on a recommendation from the First Sea Lord, currently Sir Gwyn Jenkins.

As a longtime admirer of the Princess of Wales, I was so disappointed to learn she had to cancel her appearance at Royal Ascot just before she was scheduled to attend. Kensington Palace confirmed the news to NBC, and it’s a real shame she won’t be joining the festivities this year. I was really looking forward to seeing her there!

The palace said Kate was sad to miss the event, but is still working out how to best manage her public appearances as she recovers from cancer.

Prince Harry’s lawsuit seeking extra security ended on May 2nd when a court dismissed it. This came over a year after a previous request for increased protection was denied by the Royal and VIP Executive Committee.

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stopped being full-time working royals in 2021 and moved to the U.S., their security arrangements were reduced. Since then, Harry has asked for continued security protection during his visits to the U.K.

As a dedicated follower of Prince Harry, it really broke my heart to hear him talk about the legal fight. He seemed truly devastated by the outcome. What struck me most was when he said he just doesn’t see a future where he’d bring Meghan and the kids back to the UK right now – it was a really powerful statement, and you could feel his pain.

I’ve been following the news, and it’s so sad to hear Prince Harry share that his father, King Charles, isn’t currently speaking to him. He mentioned it’s related to concerns about security, but he definitely expressed a desire to mend things and rebuild their relationship – and honestly, who wouldn’t want to see that happen?

Prince Harry said he wants to rebuild his relationship with his father and the rest of his family, who he shares his children, Archie and Lilibet, with. However, it’s up to his father to make the first move.

He doesn’t foresee returning to the U.K. with his family anytime soon. He expressed sadness at the thought of his children never getting to know his home country.

Harry explained that his father has significant influence and could potentially solve the situation. He suggested this wouldn’t require direct involvement, but rather allowing professionals to handle things without interference.

I can’t believe it! After *all* this time, he’s finally trying to make things right! He actually said he wants to reconcile, and it just broke my heart. He admitted, ‘Life is precious, I don’t know how much longer my father has.’ It’s like, that’s all it took? It’s amazing, and honestly, so emotional to hear him say that. I’m just… I’m really hoping they can fix things now.
