This summer marks the return of “King of the Hill” with fresh episodes! To help fans prepare for this exciting comeback, Hulu is offering a special recap video. After a fifteen-year hiatus, “King of the Hill” is set to launch a new season, and life in Arlen, Texas, has seen significant changes for characters like Hank. Given that “King of the Hill” has always been mindful of its timeline as an animated sitcom, it would be beneficial for fans to brush up on old episodes before diving into the new ones.
In the upcoming seasons of “King of the Hill,” the storyline will leap forward nearly a decade since the original series, causing each character to find themselves in significantly different circumstances. Consequently, events from the initial series may heavily influence the new era’s transformation. To help fans reacquaint themselves with the show before its revival, Hulu has released a special video as a refresher. You can watch it below.
What to Know for New King of the Hill Revival
I’m beyond excited to share that I’ll be diving back into the hilarious world of “King of the Hill”! This long-awaited revival, dubbed Season 14, is finally making its grand entrance on both Hulu and Disney+’s Star content on August 4th. The new season promises a whopping ten episodes, all dropping simultaneously when we kick off this new chapter.
The original masterminds behind the series, Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, are back at the helm, with Saladin K. Patterson stepping up as showrunner. And guess what? Our favorite voice actors – Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, and Lauren Tom – are all returning to bring their beloved characters to life once more! So, mark your calendars, Hill-heads. It’s time to reunite with the Hill family!
Jonathan Joss came back as John Redcorn for the latest shows, but we don’t know if his character will continue beyond this point. Johnny Hardwick, who originally played Dale Gribble, is set to appear in six episodes of the new series. However, if there are more episodes, Toby Huss will voice Dale instead. Previously, Toby voiced Cotton Hill and Kahn Souphanousinphone in the original series. Now, Ronnie Chieng voices Kahn in the revival.
What Is King of the Hill Season 14 About?
In Season 14 of “King of the Hill,” set almost a decade after the original series, significant changes have occurred for Hank and all the characters. Here’s what we can anticipate from the new episodes: “Having spent years working in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement savings, Hank and Peggy Hill return to find Arlen, Texas changed. They reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill while Bobby, now a chef in Dallas, experiences his twenties alongside Connie, Joseph, and Chane.
The television series “King of the Hill” was distinct in its approach as it unfolded a continuous narrative throughout its episodes. Each episode presented a standalone story, yet they were intricate pieces contributing to the characters’ development and progression. This is what made the original so beloved, and the upcoming revival generates much excitement because these characters are evolving further. Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing their ongoing journey.
