Kingdom Hearts 4 Team is Working Towards Series’ 25th Anniversary, Fans Panic Over No News in 2026

Did you realize that Kingdom Hearts turned 24 on March 28th? It’s easy to forget, but the game’s official Twitter account marked the occasion with a beautiful new picture of Xehanort holding an umbrella, along with a thank you message from director Tetsuya Nomura.

The message says, “We are working hard towards the 25th anniversary. Thank you for your support.” Looking at the dates, it seems he’s talking about 2027, which likely means he’s discussing Kingdom Hearts 4. As for what’s happening this year, we’re not sure any more than you are.

Although we might still learn more about the next movie in 2026, some fans are disappointed by the lack of updates. Many have noticed the limited communication in recent years. One fan, @ImanIman77502, pointed out that hearing about efforts for the 25th anniversary suggests there won’t be any new information for five years – since the initial announcement.

It looks like others feel the same way – one user, @Uxian_, shared a GIF showing Mickey Mouse slicing incredibly thin bread, while @YUNGJEFF simply posted a begging emoji, hinting they want more information. No matter how you look at it, details about the sequel have been scarce, even after so long.

Like Kingdom Hearts 3 before it, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth has been steadily progressing, and we’re hopeful for a more substantial reveal next year. Tetsuya Nomura confirmed last September that development is on track, so the game isn’t stalled. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
