Netflix has unveiled plans to showcase Daniel Craig‘s eagerly awaited film, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery,” in theaters for a span of two weeks before its release on their platform.
The movie that forms part of Rian Johnson’s highly praised Knives Out trilogy is set to debut in selected theaters on November 26, for a two-week screening. After this initial run, it will be available on Netflix starting December 12.
In the mystery novel “Wake Up Dead Man”, Craig once again takes on the character of private investigator Benoit Blanc. As the story unfolds, things appear to grow increasingly ominous for our detective as he collaborates with the local police chief to unravel a murder that seems to have happened out of nowhere and is beyond belief.
As I eagerly anticipate the upcoming release, I couldn’t help but share the thrilling new poster Netflix unveiled, which depicts our characters mysteriously peering into a grave, hinting at the film’s chilling gothic atmosphere that I can’t wait to immerse myself in.
In simple terms, the synopsis states that Daniel Craig’s character Benoit Blanc will appear again, this time facing his deadliest case yet, which is set to be the darkest installment in the three-part series of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery saga.
As the young, inexperienced priest, Jud Duplenticy (portrayed by Josh O’Connor), is dispatched to work alongside the charismatic and fiery Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin), it becomes evident that there are troubles brewing within the church congregation.
Wicks’ devoted yet humble congregation consists of fervent churchgoer Martha Delacroix, portrayed by Glenn Close; cautious gardener Samson Holt, played by Thomas Haden Church; Vera Draven, a strict lawyer, is represented by Kerry Washington; aspiring politician Cy Draven is played by Daryl McCormack; medical professional Nat Sharp, acted by Jeremy Renner; acclaimed author Lee Ross, brought to life by Andrew Scott; and cellist Simone Vivane, portrayed by Cailee Spaeny, complete the congregation.
Following an unexpected and seemingly unsolvable murder in the town, the absence of an apparent culprit leads Police Chief Geraldine Scott (played by Mila Kunis) to team up with acclaimed detective Benoit Blanc to decipher a riddle that goes against all common sense.
