Knull Returns to Conquer the Marvel Universe with His Most Powerful Creation Yet

Major villains like Knull never stay defeated for good, and he’s returned with a new weapon that could finally let him take over the entire Marvel Universe. It wasn’t long ago that the God of the Symbiotes caused chaos across the Marvel Universe in the “King in Black” event. Now he’s back, still determined to get revenge on Marvel’s heroes and conquer everything in sight. But the heroes have beaten him before – what’s different this time?

Knull was once an unbelievably powerful cosmic god, controlling the symbiotes and even capable of defeating Celestials and battling other gods. Despite his immense power, he was ultimately defeated by Venom. Now, after being absent for years and facing Hela, Knull has returned and is building a weapon that threatens to conquer the entire Marvel Universe.

Knull Turns Godzilla into His Most Destructive Weapon

The fifth issue of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe, written by Gerry Dugan and illustrated by Javier Garrón, clearly shows that Godzilla is unstoppable. After a relentless four-issue battle, the Avengers attempt a last-ditch effort, piloting a giant mech to defeat the monster. However, Godzilla easily overpowers it, forcing the team to resort to their backup plan: banishing him. Using the power of Thor’s hammer, Mjolnir, the Avengers send Godzilla to a faraway planet, hoping to contain him there.

Ironically, the Avengers’ attempt to fix the future actually made things much worse. They discovered that Johnny Storm wasn’t warning them about a future disaster, but trying to convince them not to banish Godzilla. Now, Godzilla has landed on a remote planet where Knull has found him. Knull is covering Godzilla with symbiotes, turning him into a powerful, Venom-infused creature, and plans to use him to conquer Earth and the entire Marvel Universe.

With Godzilla Under His Control, Nothing Can Stop Knull

What I really enjoyed about Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe was how it fully showcased Godzilla’s incredible power. He went head-to-head with some of Marvel’s strongest villains, and none of them could defeat him. Even Doctor Strange couldn’t hold him by trapping him in the astral plane. While vibranium did bother Godzilla a little, it wasn’t a significant weakness – more of a minor inconvenience for the giant monster.

Godzilla is often seen as a destructive force, but he’s more like a natural disaster than a true villain. He’s not malicious, he simply reacts strongly when provoked. However, the arrival of Knull changes everything. Knull is manipulating Godzilla with symbiotes, turning his immense power into a weapon. By controlling Godzilla – now ‘Venomized’ – Knull can unleash him on anything, and the monster won’t stop until total destruction is achieved.

Godzilla was already incredibly strong, but now he’s even more powerful with a whole army of symbiotes enhancing his strength and resilience. While the Avengers have dealt with symbiotes before, any boost to Godzilla’s abilities makes him even harder to defeat. Plus, Godzilla is currently in deep space, and many planets don’t have local heroes to protect them. This means Knull and Godzilla could cause massive damage throughout the Marvel Universe before anyone can effectively respond.

From what I understand, this story is officially part of Marvel’s main continuity, meaning the consequences are serious. Knull now controls a powerful enemy that the Avengers couldn’t beat before. Although things were already difficult, Marvel’s heroes are facing an even bigger and more dangerous threat. With Godzilla forced to do his bidding, there’s seemingly no way to stop Knull from using the monster’s power to finally cover the Marvel Universe in darkness.
