Asus and Kojima Productions are teaming up to release a special edition gaming tablet called the ROG Flow Z13-KJP. The tablet’s unique design comes from Yoji Shinkawa, the artist behind the iconic look of games like Metal Gear and Death Stranding, and includes nods to the Kojima Productions character, Ludens. You can see the tablet revealed in the video linked below.
The ROG Flow Z13-KJP boasts a vibrant 13.4-inch touchscreen display with a sharp 2560 x 1600 resolution and a smooth 180Hz refresh rate. It’s powered by a powerful AMD Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 processor with 16 cores and 32 threads, running at 3.00 GHz (boostable to 5.1 GHz) and featuring 80 MB of cache, paired with 128 GB of fast 8000 MHz LPDDR5X RAM and a Radeon 8060S GPU. For artificial intelligence tasks, it includes a dedicated AMD XDNA NPU capable of processing up to 50 trillion operations per second. The device also features a comfortable chiclet keyboard with customizable RGB backlighting. Connectivity options are plentiful, including a headphone/microphone combo jack, HDMI 2.1 port, two USB-C ports supporting DisplayPort and power delivery, a fast USB-A port (up to 10 Gbps), a microSD card reader, and compatibility with the XG Mobile GC34 external GPU enclosure.
Asus and Kojima Productions say their partnership is built on shared beliefs: Asus’s motto, “For those who dare,” and Kojima Productions’ philosophy, “We are those who play.”
In a joint statement, Kojima and Shinkawa explained that play and challenge go hand-in-hand, driving creativity and progress. They described their new creation as a tool for ‘Ludens’ – those who love to play – and hope it will be a companion on exciting new adventures for everyone who enjoys both playing and overcoming challenges.
Shinkawa explained that he designed this PC with Ludens in mind, incorporating elements of the character into both its appearance and components. He wanted the final product to truly capture Ludens’ spirit.
Although the ROG Flow Z13-KJP has strong technical specifications, its most striking feature is its design, created by artist Yoji Shinkawa. The tablet’s chassis is precisely crafted from metal and reinforced with carbon fiber, giving it a look and feel reminiscent of the games Shinkawa designed art for, like those created by Hideo Kojima.
Alongside the ROG Flow Z13-KJP, Asus and Kojima Productions are releasing a collection of gaming accessories. These include the ROG Delta II-KJP headset, the ROG Keris II Origin-KJP mouse, and the ROG Scabbard II XXL-KJP mouse mat. All the products share a sleek black, white, and gold color scheme, creating a unified look. The tablet even comes with a special carrying case inspired by the game Death Stranding.
Asus hasn’t revealed how much the tablet or its accessories will cost, or when they’ll be available, except that they’re expected to launch sometime in the first half of 2026. You can see more details in the image gallery below, including a look at the accessories created in collaboration with Kojima Productions.
