Following the huge success of the recent Netflix movie, KPop Demon Hunters is planning to expand its brand with the help of the owners of Barbie. The film has been a critical and commercial hit for Netflix, becoming one of their biggest successes in years and currently ranking as their most-watched original movie ever.
The movie recently did very well with a special sing-along release in theaters, earning $19.2 million and becoming the top film in the US and Canada. Because of this success, Netflix and Sony, the companies behind the film, are planning to continue the story with a possible sequel – potentially titled KPop Demon Hunters – as well as other projects like a TV series and a stage musical.
Netflix has partnered with Mattel and Hasbro to create toys based on their series, KPop Demon Hunter. These companies will be producing a wide range of products, including toys, collectibles, games, and role-playing items, designed for fans of all ages.

Mattel will create a wide range of toys based on the series, including action figures, dolls, and playsets. A special HUNTR/X doll set featuring the characters Rumi, Mira, and Zoey will be among the products available. Fans can pre-order the main heroes’ doll set starting November 12, 2025, with deliveries expected in 2026.
Hasbro is developing stuffed animals and electronic toys, and will also create new products using its existing brands. One example is a special edition of Monopoly DEAL called Kpop Demon Hunters, which you can pre-order now and will be released on January 1, 2026. Both Hasbro and Mattel products will be available in stores starting in spring 2026, with more items planned for release throughout the year and beyond.
The strong sales of this product continue the winning streak for KPop Demon Hunters, which has stayed popular with audiences since its debut on June 20, 2025. With new toys and games already in the works, the film’s early success is fueling plans to expand it into a larger franchise.
This agreement is expected to be highly profitable for everyone involved – Netflix, Mattel, and Hasbro. The franchise appeals to a wide audience, not just children, allowing the companies to create and sell collectibles and games that families will enjoy. Releasing these products gradually will likely help keep the series popular for a long time.
With the popularity of KPop Demon Hunters, there’s a strong potential for expanding it into a full franchise. This means merchandise and other products will not only be successful on their own, but will also help promote the movie. Netflix’s existing relationships with companies like Mattel and Hasbro should further boost the film’s success and create a profitable opportunity for the streaming service.
