KPop Demon Hunters’ Ji-young Yoo Reveals the Weirdest DM She’s Gotten

Ji-young Yoo’s fans have a few golden suggestions for a KPop Demon Hunters sequel.

The actress, known for voicing the upbeat rapper Zoey in the Netflix movie, shared some of the most surprising direct messages she’s gotten since the film came out. Surprisingly, many of them were suggestions and ideas for how to make a sequel.

She shared with TopMob News’ Daryn Carp at the Universal Music Group Grammys after-party that she finds it amusing when fans offer suggestions for future movies. She explained that she has very little say in those decisions, and their ideas always make her smile.

Does the 26-year-old bother replying to those messages? No, it’s just not worth the argument it would cause.

As she put it, “No, there’s no use in responding.”

Ji-young is now accustomed to unusual requests ever since becoming famous. She once mentioned that a fan even tried to get her autograph while she was in the emergency room!

She told Keltie Knight from TopMob at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards on January 4th that the most unusual place anyone had ever asked her for an autograph was while she was in the hospital.

I recently tweaked my back, but honestly, I’m doing great! It was a little scare, but I’m totally fine and back to my usual routine. As a lifestyle expert, I always say, a little self-care goes a long way, and I’m definitely prioritizing that right now – but I’m feeling good as new!

Netflix and Sony revealed in November they’re teaming up again to continue the story of the Huntr/x girl group from KPop Demon Hunters. The film was a massive hit for Netflix, becoming its most-watched ever with over 500 million views by late 2025. Zoey, who provides the singing voice for Rei Ami, had previously said she was excited to begin work on a second movie.

She told TopMob News in October that she was also eagerly awaiting the call. “You’ll know as soon as I do,” she said, “and we can talk then.”

Even after all this time, the 30-year-old filmmaker was amazed by how much the story resonated with audiences.

She continued, saying she was deeply moved and amazed, and truly humbled by the impact music and art can have. It might sound like a cliché, but they really can change the world. This film and its soundtrack did just that, bringing much-needed hope and positivity to a difficult time, and she felt incredibly lucky to have been involved.
