As of Friday, February 20th, 2026, at 4am, Christopher Judge, the voice actor for Kratos, has issued a statement following an apparent accidental reveal of Santa Monica Studio’s upcoming announcement.
A leaked video reveals he briefly mentioned the planned God of War Trilogy Remake, a project he isn’t working on, and hinted at potential announcements coming around late summer.
He’s since put out a statement on X (or Twitter) clarifying his comments:
Just to be clear, I wasn’t involved in the creation of the original games in any way. While I’d love to continue working on God of War with Santa Monica Studio forever, I’m currently focusing on some other really exciting projects. I’ll share more details about those this summer.
It’s a shame about the recording of Judge, but it feels like a distraction from the real issue.
He consistently indicated he wasn’t working on the God of War Remake Trilogy, so that part seems true. However, based on how he was speaking, it didn’t sound like he was discussing any other projects outside of Santa Monica Studio either.
Christopher Judge, the actor who voices Kratos in God of War, may have accidentally revealed details about the next installment in the series.
I was watching a fan meet-and-greet video – it was originally posted by Fuzhpuzy and someone shared it on Reddit – and the actor let slip that we’ll probably “hear about their next project around late summer.” That’s really exciting, and it actually fits with what people have been saying about Santa Monica Studio’s next big PS5 game coming out in 2027!
In a recent video, Judge shared that TC Carson is returning to voice Kratos in the remake of the God of War trilogy, meaning Judge won’t be part of the project. He also mentioned the game will include updated technology and a revamped combat system.
He then shared news about Santa Monica Studio’s next project, hinting it will be a completely new game, not connected to anything they’ve done before. There’s a lot of speculation that it might be set in a new world inspired by Ancient Egyptian mythology.
Before today, people were already speculating that the game would be revealed later this year, with a release planned for 2027. It’s likely we’ll get a first look during a PlayStation “State of Play” event around the time of the “Summer Game Fest.” However, one insider suggests the announcement might not come until late summer, or perhaps even later if their information isn’t accurate.
It’s starting to look like details about this project are finally emerging. Are you looking forward to seeing what Santa Monica Studio has been working on? We probably won’t have to wait much longer to learn more.
