The fallout from the Coldplay concert scandal continues.
Kristin Cabot, who was publicly noticed embracing the ex-CEO of Astronomer, Andy Byron, during the band’s Boston concert in July, has reportedly initiated a divorce process from her spouse, as per court documents obtained by NBC News.
On August 13, a petition for divorce was filed by the individual aged 52, as stated in the records, and it was submitted in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The next court hearing, which is a scheduling conference in the family division of New Hampshire’s 10th Circuit Court, has been set for November 26.
NBC News reached out to Cabot, her husband and their lawyers for comment and didn’t hear back.
One month following her resignation as the head of human resources at Astronomer, Cabot filed for divorce.
NBC News reported in July that Kristin Cabot is no longer employed at Astronomer, as she chose to resign from her position.
Her resignation came just days after Byron himself handed in his resignation as CEO.
Andy Byron resigned, and the board agreed to his resignation due to not meeting the company’s expected standards of behavior. The search for our new CEO begins while our co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Pete DeJoy, continues in the role of interim CEO.
The uproar gained widespread attention following their performance alongside Coldplay at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 15th. During this concert, members of the audience were highlighted on the giant screen.
Following the scene where Byron and Cabot were displayed affectionately on-screen, Byron swiftly exited the frame, causing Cabot to hide her face and turn away from the camera. This moment sparked a well-known comment from Chris Martin of Coldplay.
He playfully suggested, “Either they’re involved in a secret relationship or they’re extremely reserved,” but he’s uncertain about the situation.
Martin added, “Oh s–t! I hope we didn’t do something bad.”
A month later, the 48-year-old defended his band’s use of the jumbotron during its shows.
At Coldplay’s concert on August 19th, he made it clear that the camera they were using was not, nor would ever be, a “kiss cam”. Although they had placed one couple in its viewfinder, it will always be known as such for their lives.
He continued, “This screen is known as a Jumbotron. We’ve been doing this for quite a while now. We select individuals to greet. Occasionally, it leads to a significant, global controversy, yes. However, the majority of the time, we’re simply trying to say hello to some people. Now, let me make something clear – all of this unnecessary drama.
The “Fix You” singer then doubled down on the bit even further.
He said to the crowd, “When life gives you lemons, you have to turn them into lemonade.” So, we will carry on as planned since we’re looking forward to meeting some of you.
Moreover, Martin also subtly criticized Byron and Cabot by remarking, “If you can’t handle being on global headlines, then step aside.
