Summers have officially stopped being fun for Kyle Cooke.

On the March 24th episode of Bravo’s Summer House, Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula‘s marital issues came to a head, signaling a major crisis in their relationship.

Kyle, recently separated from his wife after four years of marriage, felt upset when Amanda seemed to ignore him after a night of drinking.

It really hurt watching Amanda have so much fun with Jesse, Solomon, West, and Ben. She seemed to be having the time of her life with them, and I just felt completely left out. In a confessional, she admitted she felt ditched and incredibly isolated, and honestly, that’s exactly how it looked to me – like she was totally alone, even with her friends around. She even said she didn’t know how else to describe how alone she felt, and it was heartbreaking to watch her struggle with that feeling, especially knowing it was happening with her wife present.

Honestly, it was awful to watch. Kyle had clearly had too much to drink and just lashed out at Amanda, telling her she wasn’t supportive and then muttering a really nasty curse word. It was so uncalled for! Thankfully, Ciara Miller immediately stepped in to defend her best friend, which was exactly what needed to happen.

Ciara pointed out that telling your wife ‘you’re fired’ is unacceptable, while Amanda tried to dismiss the argument by saying she didn’t want it to become a bigger issue.

Honestly, knowing it was Kyle’s birthday the next day just broke my heart for Amanda! She was clearly trying so hard to avoid anything ruining it for him, you know? She didn’t want things to blow up and overshadow his special day, and I totally get it. It’s like, can’t everyone just be happy for once, especially when it’s someone as amazing as Kyle’s birthday?!

“Honestly, what’s the use of even discussing this?” she said. “It’ll just make things worse. He never takes responsibility or apologizes. I know how he talks to me is wrong, and I don’t accept it, but I also know talking about it won’t change anything.”

But the fight didn’t end there.

As Ben attempted to calm Kyle down after his angry reaction, West reassured a very upset Amanda, saying he’d never witnessed such an unexpected and disrespectful display before.

Amanda’s reply?

She dismissed it as mild. “It’s just a softer side of Kyle,” she said. “It’s still a lot to handle, though. I know I’m flawed, but I’ve been coping with this for over a decade. It’s wild, honestly. Sometimes I wonder if this is as good as it’s going to get.”

You know, I’ve seen this scenario play out so many times. Poor Amanda was heartbroken over the breakup, but Kyle was completely focused on feeling wronged. I shouldn’t have sworn at my wife and told her to ‘go away,’ but I’m not perfect. There’s a limit to how much silent treatment and constant criticism anyone can take. I used to believe I was overreacting, but after reviewing footage from those times, I realized I wasn’t imagining things.
