Kyle Richards Confirms Relationship After Mauricio Umansky Separation

The star of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills revealed she’s begun dating again after splitting from Mauricio Umansky, her husband of 30 years, but she didn’t say who she’s seeing.

Kyle explained on the December 11th episode of RHOBH that after her split from Mauricio, she quickly became very involved with someone new when she was emotionally fragile. She was eager to share the relationship publicly, but the other person wasn’t comfortable with that attention, and that’s what eventually caused them to break up. According to Kyle, the constant rumors and gossip were the final straw.

She added that she “could have weathered the storm, but this is not for everyone.”

The 56-year-old, who people had previously speculated was dating country singer Morgan Wade, recently shared the news while talking with her Real Housewives costar, Erika Jayne. She explained she was tired of constantly being asked about her relationships.

Honestly, I’m just so fed up with everyone constantly asking about who I’m dating. It feels incredibly invasive. It makes me think, if I was with someone I really cared about, and they specifically asked me to keep our relationship private – to not involve others – would people still push and pry just because they’re curious? Would they expect me to ignore my partner’s wishes just to satisfy their nosiness? It’s frustrating and disrespectful, and I wish people would just respect my boundaries.

The reality star, who has four children – Farrah Aldjufrie, 36, Sophia Umansky, 25, Alexia Umansky, 29, and Portia Umansky, 17 – with Mauricio, explained that she felt trapped during their relationship.

Kyle said he’s always believed in honesty and prides himself on being truthful. He admitted he’s sometimes unsure what others expect from him, and confirmed that he is currently single.

I was dating someone I really liked,” she said. “I would do anything to make them happy if it were just up to me, but other people are involved too.”

Erika shared, ‘She’s really letting her guard down and being open and understanding, which is wonderful to see. I’m so proud of how far Kyle has come.’

She also cautioned that while she was happy with how Kyle shared his information, the rest of the cast will likely demand answers too, after waiting for them for so long.

The singer, known for her song “How Many Fks,” said that even though the relationship has ended, people will continue to ask Kyle about it until she fully explains what happened and puts the rumors to rest.

The news that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky, stars of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, were separating after 27 years of marriage sent shockwaves through the Bravo community.

Viewers didn’t need to wait for the new season of RHOBH to find out how the couple was doing, as they are parents to daughters Farrah, Alexia, Sophia, and Portia.

The couple addressed rumors about a divorce, stating they are false. They confirmed it’s been a very difficult year for them, the hardest of their marriage, but emphasized they still deeply love and respect each other and that no one is to blame.

Despite appearing on reality TV, the couple requested privacy to work through their problems.

They acknowledged it’s tempting to guess what happened, but asked people to avoid making up untrue stories just to make the situation seem more scandalous.

Immediately after Kyle and Mauricio announced their separation, people started talking about Kyle’s close relationship with singer Morgan Wade. Fans noticed Wade appearing frequently in Kyle’s Instagram posts ever since they met in April 2022.

Kyle addressed the rumors head-on when asked by photographers about her connection to Morgan.

“We are very good friends,” she told told paparazzi in West Hollywood, Calif.

When directly asked if she and the musician were dating, she simply confirmed it wasn’t true.

Kyle also pointed out that she and her close friend, Teddi Mellencamp, have matching tattoos.

Okay, so everyone’s been buzzing about Kyle and Mauricio, right? “In response, Kyle joked back, “Excuse me, they want to know why I’m friends with you.”

I always loved how Morgan and Kyle handled the negativity! Morgan explained they wanted to playfully tease those who were being critical, almost like turning the tables on them. Mauricio shared a photo from August 20th of the whole family enjoying a nighttime boat ride, captioning it “Summer Vacay 2023 on point.” Kyle, meanwhile, posted a cute picture with her daughters, writing “That’s amore” with heart and Italian flag emojis.

During a live Q&A on Amazon Live, Kyle revealed she’d been going through a difficult time recently, even though she appeared to be enjoying a pleasant vacation in Italy.

Kyle admitted it’s been difficult navigating her relationship with Mauricio in the public eye, responding to a fan’s question with, “This has been very hard… with so many people watching.” She added that they still care deeply for each other.

During a recent Amazon Live stream, Kyle addressed rumors about her trip to Paris with Morgan and a close friend from childhood, explaining it was simply a fun getaway.

Kyle expressed his frustration with online misinformation, saying, “It’s amazing how many false stories people create about the trip. I just don’t understand why they make things up.”

Kyle shared that they traveled internationally to film content for a documentary Morgan is producing.

After the DWTS premiere, Mauricio offered a status update on their marriage.

He explained on the September 28th episode of The Agency’s Red Mic podcast that they were privately working through personal challenges. He clarified that they weren’t separated or divorced, but were still actively addressing issues within their marriage.

The man, 53, said he’s thankful they had almost thirty years of marriage without any major problems.

He reflected on a remarkable 26-year journey, acknowledging the recent challenges of the past year. He and his wife, Kyle, feel fortunate to have enjoyed 26 years without experiencing a truly difficult period, recognizing that most marriages inevitably face tough times, whether for months, weeks, or even years.

Mauricio then addressed rumors that he and Kyle staged their separation to garner publicity. 

He said he wouldn’t ruin his own life just to get a plant some attention, and that he wasn’t capable of such a manipulative scheme. He emphasized he wasn’t clever enough to think of something like that.

The trailer for season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reveals that Morgan received a tattoo of the letter “K” done by Kyle. In a clip from the show, Kyle brought Morgan to a tattoo artist, and Morgan playfully claimed they met because Kyle had been following her.

And, like the public, Kyle’s co-stars had questions about her friendship with the singer.

Dorit Kemsley was shocked and asked her friend, “You got a tattoo of the first letter of my name? What’s happening, Kyle?”

The conversation between Kyle and Mauricio really caught people’s attention online. It seemed they were making light of the rumors about infidelity, with Mauricio jokingly telling Kyle he was glad it was her involved. Kyle responded with a playful, “For once, it’s me.”

Mauricio recently had dinner with actress Leslie Bega in Los Angeles, sparking rumors of a romance. However, he quickly clarified that they are just colleagues who work together.

He told TopMob News there was absolutely no truth to the story, calling it completely unfounded and saying there was nothing to discuss.

Shortly after publicly praising his wife as his biggest support during a performance on Dancing with the Stars, Mauricio was seen holding hands with his dance partner, Emma, leading to speculation about a possible romantic connection.

Kyle said she was surprised and upset by the photos shown on Watch What Happens Live. She told Andy Cohen that seeing them was “very hard” and “hurt her feelings.”

She wouldn’t say for sure if the two are dating, but she did offer her thoughts on what they’d be like as a couple.

She wasn’t sure if anything had actually occurred, but she acknowledged something was definitely going on. Despite loving him and maintaining a friendly relationship, she admitted that she was truly hurt by something he’d done.

So much so, that she admitted she deleted a recent Instagram post in support of their run on DWTS.

However, she added, “I also voted for them.”

Things really came to a head for the couple at BravoCon 2023 when Kyle became visibly upset and cried while talking about their divorce.

She explained that many people assume she should simply overcome her challenges and solve everything immediately. While that’s exactly what she wishes she could do, she admitted this isn’t the outcome she envisioned for herself.

Despite everything, Kyle emphasized their deep love and strong family bond, stating that they will always be family, no matter what.

Even though they are separated, Kyle shared whether she plans to give her husband gifts for Christmas and Hanukkah.

Kyle told TopMob News on December 7th that he plans to get a gift for the person if they spend Christmas together, but he’s still deciding what to get.

Kyle shared that they celebrated by enjoying winter activities like skiing and relaxing at home. They loved spending time playing games, watching movies, and cozying up by the fire.

Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage cracks were clearer than ever during RHOBH‘s Feb. 14 episode.

Okay, so Kyle just broke my heart in his confessional. He was talking about therapy, and honestly, he was on the verge of tears. He said he just gets so frustrated because he doesn’t feel like anyone is listening to him. And it’s not like he’s willing to just stay miserable, you know? He’s drawing a line! He actually said he wouldn’t want his daughters to settle for less, and he won’t settle for it for himself either. It’s just…powerful. I’m seriously rooting for him to find happiness, even if it means making tough choices. It’s like he finally realized his own worth!

During the reunion for season 13 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle explained why she kissed Morgan in the music video for her 2023 song, “Fall in Love With Me.”

She explained on the March 13th episode that she agreed to something because, frankly, she thought the other person was attractive. She jokingly admitted, “What can I say?”

As for whether or not she sees a romantic future with the singer?

“I honestly don’t know,” she said. “I’m growing and changing a lot right now, and I’m not sure what’s going to happen next.”

Mauricio insisted in March that, despite being single, he was not yet ready to mingle.

He shared with TopMob News that he’s been taking time to focus on himself and is enjoying the process of self-discovery. He’s not feeling any pressure to make immediate decisions and is happy to simply enjoy where things are going, learning more about himself along the way.

He added, “I’m just taking it a day at a time.”

In the second season of the Netflix show Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio Umansky spoke about the rumors that Kyle Richards was dating Morgan Wade.

The founder of The Agency said he was perfectly fine with the possibility that their relationship might not develop beyond friendship.

He added that the two are clearly connected in some way. They spend a lot of time together, but what their relationship is exactly, he couldn’t say.

Umansky no more.

Kyle has removed her husband’s last name from her Instagram username, but her profile still identifies her as a wife.

Kyle and Mauricio’s breakup up got even more real when he moved out of their L.A. home in May 2024.

“It was just a really strange experience,” said the Halloween Ends actress on the May 14th episode of the Bitch Bible podcast. “I always expected it to feel emotional and very present. I’m a mom to four kids and life is always hectic.”
