Kylie Kelce Reveals New Addition to Her and Jason Kelce’s Family

After hinting for almost three weeks that a new pet was coming, Jason Kelce of the Not Gonna Lie podcast has officially welcomed a German Shepherd puppy named Bernadette to his family.

During the March 31st episode of her show, FAFO, Kylie explained, while cradling a new puppy at Main Line Animal Rescue in Pennsylvania, that she couldn’t resist adopting him. She jokingly said, “Someone let me into a rescue and this is what happened!”

Fans were probably surprised Kylie adopted another dog, especially since she’d been wanting to get a cat for a while. Kylie shares four daughters – Wyatt, 6, Bennett, 5, Elliotte, 3, and Finnley, 11 months – with Jason.

While Jason Kelce’s wife and daughters wanted a cat to join their family, which already includes dogs Nessie and Belaoo, Jason, 38, strongly disliked the idea. He even playfully frightened his daughters by jokingly telling them cats were poisonous.

Kylie started her video by mentioning a running joke with former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, playfully suggesting he wouldn’t be happy with the new pet she was bringing home.

I told you all that my husband and I have been dealing with a bit of a cat situation,” she said. “My husband, Jason, knows I’m here today, and we talked about whether he’d be upset if I brought a pet home with me.

She explained that when she asked him how angry he was on a scale of one to ten, he responded with a ten. Luckily, he didn’t specify which end of the scale represented being upset. Now, they’re going to discover if, by the end of the show, she’ll be taking home a four-legged pet.

Kylie had a wonderful afternoon meeting adorable animals – kittens, Great Dane puppies, barn cats, and even a chatty duckling – at the Chester Springs rescue. Then, she learned about some German Shepherd puppies at their Philadelphia location, and that immediately became her priority.

She was so surprised by the unexpected news that the mother of four actually re-shot the ending of the video.

So, a bit of a life update! Six weeks have flown by, and something really exciting happened. As you know, I’m a huge German Shepherd lover, and a breeder reached out – they thought they might have the perfect puppy for me! And guess what? They did! I’m actually here now, hoping to bring a little furball home with me!

Okay, so Kylie told me the cutest thing! Her husband was totally against getting a pet just six weeks ago – can you believe it? But then he did a complete 180! He said he’d consider it… but only if Kylie promised something in return. I’m dying to know what it was!

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! I basically had to promise Jason naming rights to the puppies, but it was SO worth it! We’re all on the edge of our seats to find out what he’ll choose. But honestly? I’m praying it’s Bernadette! It just feels like the perfect name, a real frontrunner, you know? It’s definitely at the top of my list, and I think it should be the name!

They finally decided on the name Bernadette, and Kylie happily announced the puppy was going home with her family. However, the podcast host still hadn’t given up on her goal of adopting a cat.

Kylie explained that while she loved the cats she met, she wasn’t ready to adopt one yet. She said that when she is, she’ll definitely go back to the PSPCA to find a cat that would be happy living with her and Travis at their home.

“But for now,” she concluded, “may I introduce Bernadette Kelce.”

In October 2019, Jason and Kylie Kelce had their first child, a daughter named Wyatt Elizabeth Kelce.

Their second daughter Elliotte Ray Kelce joined the family two years later.

A year after Elliotte was born, Kylie announced she was expecting another baby, sharing a sweet photo to reveal the news.

The couple had their third child in February 2023, just almost two weeks after Jason played against his brother, Travis Kelce, in the 2023 Super Bowl.

In May 2023, Jason posted a photo on Instagram of his oldest daughters with a large trophy, expressing his disbelief and excitement: “I never imagined I’d be holding the Larry O’Brien trophy, especially not in my own home!”

“Unbelievable honor to see it in person,” he continued. “The size is incredible, looks so small when NBA players are holding it, but it’s actually massive!! The girls were very interested in it.”

In August 2023, a family of five enjoyed some fun times, with Kylie playfully sharing on Instagram that they were there for Rita’s Italian Ice and obstacle courses with their dad after practice.

Jason and Kylie celebrated Wyatt’s fourth birthday in October 2023 at the Philadelphia Eagles’ stadium. Kylie shared on Instagram that the party coincided with the Eagles achieving a 4-0 record at the start of the season.

In June 2024, Kylie posted a photo on Instagram of her children, Wyatt, Elliotte, and Bennett, with the caption, “Parents understand… getting two out of three to cooperate is a win!”

Jason’s mother, Donna Kelce, shared a sweet message, calling her grandchildren a ‘cute and beautiful bunch of lucky charms’ under a rainbow.
