Laguna Beach: Where Lauren Conrad, Kristin Cavallari Stand After Feud

Laguna Beach‘s biggest feud is officially so yesterday.

Oh my gosh, you guys, can you believe it? Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallarithe Lauren and Kristin! – actually saw each other again! It happened while they were filming that Laguna Beach reunion special for Roku. It’s just… everything. All those memories of them and Stephen Colletti back in the day, that whole love triangle… it’s like a dream come true to know they’re in the same room after all this time! I’m seriously obsessed with seeing what happens next.

Honestly, it was so refreshing to hear Lauren talk about having those real conversations with her co-star. She told Erin Lim Rhodes at the premiere that it’s really important for women to connect and support each other, and that’s exactly what happened during their reunion. They were able to openly discuss past mistakes – things they regretted saying or doing – and it was clear how much both of them have grown and changed since then. It was just amazing to see them finding common ground and being so honest.

Ultimately, Lauren, gives credit to Stephen for her and Kristin’s reconciliation.

I’m so grateful to Stephen; he was the one who really made it possible,” said the 40-year-old mother of Liam, 8, and Charlie, 6, who is married to William Tell.

Kristin echoed Lauren’s sentiments, calling their reunion “absolutely” cathartic.

I finally had a chance to really connect with her, just the two of us talking like girlfriends, and I feel like I truly got to know the adult she is today,” the former Very Cavallari star shared with TopMob. “I have a lot of respect for Lauren, and I genuinely enjoy spending time with her. It’s been really lovely – you never know what will happen!”

You know, working with the cast on this project – it’s been 22 years since Laguna Beach first aired on MTV – was surprisingly therapeutic for all of us. It really gave us a chance to be open and honest about things we’d been holding onto. It felt good to finally clear the air and address some long-standing issues.

I had a really great time,” the 39-year-old said. “I didn’t realize how much I needed that experience. It all just clicked once we started doing it, and it’s been surprisingly helpful. I’m very grateful for the chance. I really have to thank Stephen – it was his idea to start the Back to the Beach podcast. He approached me, and we got everyone involved individually. The only thing missing was bringing everyone together in one place.

Kristin, who shares three children – Camden (13), Jaxon (11), and Saylor (9) – with her ex-husband Jay Cutler, explained that after discussing and resolving past issues, things feel much better. She said they were finally able to address a lot of unspoken feelings and clear up misunderstandings.

As for whether or not Kristin’s kids are joining the new generation of young Laguna Beach fans?

She explained that younger viewers find the content unengaging. They simply aren’t interested, as things have changed a lot. They’re used to getting entertainment quickly through platforms like YouTube, and don’t really watch traditional TV anymore.

I’m so excited! I get to watch Kristin and Lauren work through their past when The Reunion: Laguna Beach starts streaming on The Roku Channel on April 10th. I’ve been waiting for this!

In the meantime, keep reading for updates on where more Laguna Beach alums are today.

It’s funny to recall when Teen Vogue‘s Lisa Love told Lauren Conrad she’d forever be known as the girl who skipped Paris – a line originally spoken by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, as discovered in a 2019 look back at The Hills.

Over a decade since that controversial choice and her breakup with Jason Wahler, Lauren has achieved much more. She’s a New York Times bestselling author, co-founded The Little Market to support female artisans, and has built a successful lifestyle brand, starting with her clothing line at Kohl’s.

She’s moved on from the drama of her younger years, marrying musician and lawyer William Tell in a dreamy Pinterest-worthy wedding in 2014. They now have two sons: Liam James Tell and, born in October 2019, Charlie Wolf Tell.

Known for her outspoken personality, Kristin Cavallari has successfully transitioned from reality TV to entrepreneurship with her lifestyle brand, Uncommon James, which opened its fourth store in Charleston in 2024. She’s also expanded into footwear with a line from Chinese Laundry and has published three cookbooks.

After a decade together, she and former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler welcomed three children – Camden Jack, Jaxon Wyatt, and Saylor James – before divorcing in April 2020.

Following a breakup with Mark Estes in September 2024, Cavallari has been dating again. She told TopMob News in 2023 that she’s been on many dates recently, but isn’t easily impressed. “I just don’t have time for nonsense anymore,” she explained.

Jason Wahler, known for his rebellious behavior on reality shows like Laguna Beach and The Hills, faced numerous problems after his time on television, including drug use, DUIs, and legal issues. He finally got sober after appearing on Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky.

Jason later married his girlfriend, Ashley Slack, and credits her with helping him maintain his sobriety. Together, they have three children: Delilah Ray (born August 2017), Wyatt Ragle (born June 2021), and August Robert (born May 2025). As the founder of Widespread Recovery, Jason continues to openly discuss his past struggles, both on The Hills: New Beginnings and in his YouTube series, JAWS Diaries with Jason & Ashley Wahler.

Now living in Nashville, Jason has reconnected with Kristen, a friend he grew apart from. He shared with TopMob News in 2023 that she has been a supportive friend throughout his journey, despite their busy lives and different paths.

After fueling fan fiction about a love triangle with Kristin and Stephen, actor Laguna is now concentrating on his acting career. He was a regular on The CW’s One Tree Hill for five seasons and appeared as Taylor Swift’s love interest in her “White Horse” music video. He also briefly worked as a VJ on the original Total Request Live. More recently, he starred in the 2018 TV movie Hometown Christmas and Hulu’s Everyone Is Doing Great alongside his former One Tree Hill co-star James Lafferty.

As for his relationship with podcast co-host Kristin, it’s over. Stephen proposed to NASCAR reporter Alex Weaver in November 2023. He told TopMob News in 2024 that they are enjoying being engaged while also planning the wedding details.

The couple chose a simple and elegant way to share their happy news. They first posted a photo of their wedding on Instagram on October 3, 2025, with the caption “Mr. & Mrs.” Then, on January 20, 2026, they announced they were expecting a baby, also on Instagram, with the caption “Mom & Dad.”

For a long time, Lauren Conrad made it clear she didn’t want to revisit her time on The Hills. She remembered telling a producer, “Absolutely not!” when asked about returning, and stated she wanted no connection with the people from the show, craving distance from that part of her life.

After changing careers and moving to New York City, she graduated from the International Culinary Center and became an author with The Lo-Down. In 2016, she founded Love Wellness, a line of personal care products for women.

Speaking in 2024, she explained that while she isn’t in constant contact with many of her former co-stars, that’s not unusual after twenty years. She remains friendly with everyone and would happily greet them if she saw them.

Lauren has continued to build a fulfilling life. She married businessman Domenic “Dom” Natale in a small Laguna Beach wedding in July 2025, and they welcomed their daughter, Nelle, in January.

“I’ve created the life I always wanted,” she shared. “I’ve achieved a lot, and now I just want to maintain that: happiness, health, family, and spending time with the people I care about.”

Before settling down, actor Talan Torriero had brief romances with K.Cav, Kimberly Stewart, and Nicole Scherzinger. He met his future wife, Danielle Torriero, at a Los Angeles bar on her 21st birthday in 2009.

They later moved from California to Danielle’s home state of Nebraska, where they are building a home on a nearly one-acre property. The couple married in June 2014 and have three children: Bronson, born in October 2017, Hudson, born in December 2020, and Anderson Tito, born in June 2023.

Talan recalled being immediately struck by Danielle when they first met. “I remember thinking, ‘Who is that?’” he told TopMob News. “We started talking, and she said she was from Nebraska. I didn’t even know where that was! Now, 14 years later, here I am, living there.”

That first runway show was just the beginning for him. After leaving Laguna, Trey moved to New York City to attend Parsons School of Design, graduating in 2010 with a degree in both fashion design and renewable energy. He stayed in New York, working as an associate designer for Vera Wang and also spent time in London.

In 2023, he founded Motion Illustrated, stating on his website that after over a decade of designing for major fashion brands, he wanted to share his own style. He generally keeps a low profile on social media, but occasionally shares photos of his partner, Kasumi.

Lauren and Stephen’s close friend pursued his dream of a career in hospitality and now manages the Sofitel New York hotel.

Oh my gosh, it’s SO sweet to see he’s still close with his high school friends! Lauren, Stephen – he made him a groomsman, how adorable! – and Trey were all there for his wedding in Monterey, California back in 2016, along with Loren Polster. And his wife, Isabell Hiebl, is just perfect for him. They practically live in Austria – they call it their second home! – and their family is growing! They had their first baby, a son named Nico Josef Schmitz, in September 2018, and then a little girl, Leni, in March 2023! I’m seriously obsessed with their life!

Since leaving Laguna Beach, KCav’s friend has largely avoided reality TV. After a short period of public attention following a 2007 DUI, she built a quiet life in Texas with her husband, Michael Evans – whom she describes on Instagram as incredibly kind and loving – and their four children. She does have a blog and an online store, but mostly, she jokingly says on Instagram, she’s focused on keeping track of her kids.

Remember Alex and Jessica competing for Jason’s affection? That feels like a long time ago! Alex married Kyle Johnson in 2014, with Morgan Olson, Alex H., and Taylor Cole as bridesmaids. They now have three sons: Levi, born in 2016, Kase in 2018, and Rome in April 2021. Alex used her communications degree from Chapman University to co-found MOX Agency, a social media marketing company, also in 2014.

When Morgan joined MTV in 2004, she wasn’t aiming for fame. She simply wanted to document her high school years with friends, as she told Time magazine. She was also determined to stick to her life plan, which included finding a Mormon husband and settling down.

After graduating from Brigham Young University in 2008 with a degree in humanities and journalism, she married Joel Smith two years later. She explained that she pursued the goals she would have regardless of being on television: finishing college, traveling, getting married, and building a career, first in New York and now in Los Angeles, with her Minnow Swim brand. Currently living in South Carolina, where she recently opened a showroom in Charleston, she is a mother to Theo, Georgia, and Julian.

Casey wasn’t one of the original stars of Laguna Beach, but she definitely made an impact when she joined the show. Since then, she’s become a successful baker, opening Casey’s Cupcakes in Orange County and even winning Cupcake Wars on Food Network in 2011.

Her personal life is equally happy. She’s been married to Sean Brown (who is related to the late Nicole Brown Simpson) since August 2015, and they have three children: a daughter named Kensington, and sons Sean Brown Jr. and Conrad.

Just under three years after attending Kevin Simshauser’s wedding in October 2015, Taylor and her friend Alex both found out they were expecting babies, only eight weeks apart. Taylor welcomed her daughter, Tatum, in September 2018, followed by sons Cole in January 2020, and Olson in August 2022. As the founder of Taylor Cole Holistic Nutrition, she also enjoys sharing glimpses into her life on Instagram.
