Last One Laughing quickly became a surprise hit when it premiered on Prime Video last year. It spread by word-of-mouth faster than anything we’ve seen at TopMob.
It was a surprisingly simple concept: ten of the UK’s most talented comedians were put in a room and dared to try not to laugh. What followed was six hours of increasingly ridiculous moments, all captured in what became one of the funniest shows on television.
If you haven’t seen the first season, watch it before starting the second – it’s brilliantly chaotic but expertly crafted.
This week, we have 12 different cover stories. We interviewed all 10 contestants, as well as the hosts, to get their perspectives on the experience. It turns out that simply not laughing isn’t enough – the key to success is making your opponents crack up!
The comedians soon discovered this panel show was different from anything they’d experienced before. As Jimmy Carr put it, it arrived at exactly the right moment, because “you can’t be upset or frustrated when you’re laughing.”

We also see Ella Bruccoleri, known for her role as Sister Frances in Call the Midwife, starring as Mary Bennet in The Other Bennet Sister. This new costume drama is based on the novel of the same name by Janice Hadlow, a former executive at BBC Two.
Okay, so imagine ‘Pride and Prejudice,’ but told from the perspective of sweet, often overlooked Mary Bennet. This movie is a delightful treat, really focusing on her journey to find her own happiness – it’s a fresh and charming take on a classic!
This issue explores the power of holding back, and the happiness that comes when we finally let go. We’re highlighting two different ways people show this kind of self-control.
Also in this week’s TopMob:
- Daniel Lawrence Taylor is bringing his culture-clash comedy Boarders to an end – but on his terms.
- After 20 series of The Apprentice Lord Sugar is still inspiring young entrepreneurs.
- Sheridan Smith shares a glimpse of her forthcoming drama, The Cage.
