The Shenmue 4 Trailer Is AI-Generated
When a trailer appeared online, fans immediately started dissecting it, eager for a new Shenmue game. While the third installment didn’t fully satisfy, its ending left players wanting more. The trailer itself was a low-quality recording of a work-in-progress, captured from a television screen. A closer look revealed gameplay that felt a bit old-fashioned compared to today’s games. It initially wasn’t obvious whether the trailer was real or created using AI, but it turned out to be AI-generated.
YS Net has stated clearly that a video circulating on social media, which uses their logo, is not an official trailer for Shenmue 4 and was not produced by them. They emphasize that they have not released any trailers or promotional materials for the game. YS Net is considering legal action regarding the unauthorized video and apologizes for any confusion it caused fans.
That’s the current situation with Shenmue IV: Ys Net hasn’t released any official information or content about it. While fans love the series, there’s no evidence that a fourth game is currently being made. Shenmue III didn’t perform well commercially and came out almost two decades after Shenmue II, so the future of the series is uncertain. However, Yu Suzuki, the game’s creator, has said he’d like to make Shenmue IV eventually. Until the developers announce something official, it’s best to be cautious about any rumors.
