Warner Bros. has announced that Lee Cronin’s The Mummy will be available digitally in North America on May 19th. Physical copies – including 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD – will follow on July 14th, meaning fans won’t have to wait long to own the movie.

The Home Media Release of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy Comes With Some Stomach-Churning Behind-the-Scenes Content

A special feature on the home release of Lee Cronin’s The Mummy is “A Bloody and Grotesque Spectacle,” which showcases the talented team behind the film’s intense and violent scenes. As director Lee Cronin points out, creating a compelling monster is crucial for any monster movie, and this feature highlights that process.

Cronin described his intention with bringing the mummy to life as creating a sense of unease and mystery. He wanted the audience, especially families, to encounter something strange and unfamiliar in broad daylight – a creature that slowly reveals its true nature over the course of the story. The monster’s gradual unveiling was a key part of his vision.

Critically acclaimed filmmaker Lee Cronin wrote and directed The Mummy, which premiered in theaters on April 17th. The film presents a fresh take on ancient horror, centering around a man living in Cairo with his pregnant wife, Lariss (played by Laia Costa), and their children, Katie and Sebastián (played by Natalie Grace and Shylo Molina).

After Katie mysteriously disappeared, she reappeared years later inside a sarcophagus salvaged from a plane crash. Once her parents brought her home, they had to confront not only the pain of her disappearance but also a strange, supernatural influence affecting her.

The film received negative reviews from critics, who disliked the significant changes in tone and the portrayal of the main villain. Despite this, audiences enjoyed it, and Lee Cronin’s The Mummy earned over $86 million in theaters, which was a strong return considering its $22 million budget.

You’ll be able to rent or buy Lee Cronin’s The Mummy digitally starting May 19 on platforms like Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home. The physical versions – 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD – will be available on July 14.
