Fans have been waiting five years, but the final film featuring the late, beloved Power Rangers star will finally hit theaters. Originally slated for release in 2024, this action-packed sci-fi superhero movie – filled with martial arts and impressive battle suits – seems like the perfect final role for the actor. Well Go USA has acquired the rights to distribute the film, titled Legend of the White Dragon, in North America later this year.
The film Legend of the White Dragon was the last project for actor and martial artist Jason David Frank, who tragically passed away in November 2022 at the age of 49. Frank was best known for playing Tommy Oliver in the Power Rangers series. Now, Well Go USA Entertainment, a major distributor of independent and international films, will release Legend of the White Dragon, with CEO Doris Pfardrescher expressing how honored they are to be involved.

In Legend of the White Dragon, Jason David Frank plays Erik Reed, a once-beloved hero now in hiding. After a huge battle damages his city and reveals his secret identity, Erik is wrongly blamed for the destruction and loses everything. When corruption starts to plague Virtuo City, he’s pulled back into action, even though the people no longer trust him. He has to face his past and decide if the White Dragon is still needed, all while battling a new enemy who possesses the same powerful energy he once did.
Aaron and Sean Schoenke of Bat in the Sun Productions co-directed and co-wrote the film, with Aaron also appearing alongside Jason David Frank. Following the film’s announcement, Aaron Schoenke stated that the project was fueled by passion, dedication, and a commitment to fans. He expressed excitement about partnering with Well Go to release ‘Legend of the White Dragon’ and honor Jason David Frank’s final performance appropriately.
