During today’s Xbox Partner Preview, it was announced that the full-screen experience, originally launched with the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X, is expanding to PC and other Windows handheld devices. It will be available on Windows handhelds starting November 21st, and will soon be available to PC users who are part of the Windows Insider program through both the Xbox app and other applications.
As an analyst, I’m excited to share that Xbox’s Full Screen Experience will be rolling out tomorrow to a wide range of handheld gaming devices. Specifically, users with a Lenovo Legion Go, the original ROG Ally, an MSI Claw, an AYANEO, or any other Windows-based handheld PC will be able to try it out.

Here at Windows Central, we’ve had extensive hands-on time with the new Xbox Full Screen Experience, including during our reviews of the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X.
My colleague, Zac Bowden, got to try out the Xbox handhelds before they launched, and he agrees with my assessment. He described Microsoft’s software adjustments as a quick fix for using Windows on smaller screens, but not a fundamental solution to the larger issues with Windows 11. Still, he believes future updates could significantly improve the experience.

Just so you know, we’ve already set up Xbox Full Screen mode on the first ROG Ally and showed you how to do it.
If you can’t wait until tomorrow for the full guide, we have a quick tutorial available now showing you how to get a similar full-screen experience on your Windows handheld using a free tool.
