WB Games has announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will now be released a week earlier than originally planned. The game was first scheduled for late May 2025, and while it will still launch within that timeframe, players can now expect it a full week sooner.
Today, it was announced that LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight will launch on May 22nd for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This is a slight change from the original release date of May 29th. Players who purchase the Deluxe Edition will be able to start playing even sooner, on May 19th. A release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to come out sometime in 2026.
Legacy of the Dark Knight Could Be a Special Batman Game
Early looks at LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight suggest it could be a standout Batman game. Developer Traveller’s Tales appears to be drawing inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series, incorporating similar gameplay for both fighting and getting around LEGO Gotham City.
It’s been a while since we last had a really great Batman game – Arkham Knight came out back in 2015! So, I’m super hyped for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. If Traveller’s Tales nails this one, it could open the door for a lot more Batman games in the future. They could keep making awesome LEGO Batman titles, but even more exciting, WB Games might realize how much we really want full-on Batman experiences again. I’m really hoping this game lives up to all the hype!
