When LEGO Batman Comes Out
The release date for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is set for May 29, 2026, as revealed at last nightās Game Awards. If you pre-order the Deluxe Edition, youāll be able to start playing on May 26 ā three days before the official launch. This is just over five months from today, and the announcement came with a new gameplay trailer featuring LEGO Batman himself.
The trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight shows a large story campaign that follows Batmanās beginnings. Players will be able to choose from multiple characters, drive over 20 different vehicles, and collect more than 250 items to showcase in the Batcave.

Preorders Have Already Begun
You can now pre-order LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on most gaming systems, though Nintendo handheld owners might have to wait a bit longer.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know you can now preorder the digital version of Legacy of the Dark Knight! It’s available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC ā I’m grabbing mine on Steam. They have both a Standard and Deluxe Edition, so you can pick whichever one fits your style. No news on physical copies yet, but I’m guessing we’ll hear about those closer to the game’s release if they’re planning on making them.
Everyone who preorders the gameāno matter which platform or versionāwill get a special bonus: a Batsuit inspired by Frank Millerās classic Dark Knight Returns comic. Expect a gray suit with a blue hood and mask, staying true to the look of the original series and available when the game launches.
You can’t preorder LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for the Switch 2 just yet. Nintendo hasn’t announced a firm release date for the game on the new console, but it’s currently expected to be released by the end of 2026. You can add it to your wishlist now, though!
LEGO Batman: Legacy Of The Dark Knight Editions
Standard & Deluxe
LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is available in two versions: Standard and Deluxe. The Standard Edition includes the game itself, and if you pre-order, you’ll get a small bonus. The Deluxe Edition costs a bit more, but you’ll receive extra perks like early access and two downloadable content packs.
The Standard Edition is available for $69.99 on all platforms. It comes with the main game and a special Dark Knight Returns Batsuit if you preorder before May 29th.
The Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is priced at $89.99. If you pre-order, you can start playing three days before the official launch, as early as May 26th. This edition includes the full game, the early access bonus, and two downloadable content packs: the Legacy Collection and the Mayhem Collection.
When the game launches, players can purchase The Legacy Collection. This pack includes three sets of cosmetic items. Each set features a unique suit for every characterāthatās 21 suits totalāalong with a new Batmobile and five decorative items for the Batcave.

The Deluxe Edition also includes the Mayhem Collection, a downloadable expansion coming in September 2026. There are seven total playable characters in the base game of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight:

Each character has their own special skills to help them overcome different challenges. For example, Robin can use a grappling hook to climb or swing across spaces, Nightwing is skilled with his fighting staff, and Batgirl can bypass security systems with her tech-enhanced batarang. These are just a few examples of how each characterās abilities will be used.
The game will also feature a variety of classic Batman villains. While these characters aren’t playable in the main game, The Joker and Harley Quinn will be available as playable characters through the Mayhem Collection downloadable content (DLC).
