LEGO Is Dropping Free Star Wars Lightsabers This Weekend

Ever get that thrill when you experience an iconic Star Wars scene? LEGO is bringing that feeling to life this week with a special lightsaber building event! They’re offering a unique lightsaber model you can build and take home – it’s free, but supplies are limited, so it’s first come, first served.

So yes, it is basically the Kessel Run, but for a tiny lightsaber.

How to Claim a Free LEGO Star Wars Lightsaber in Store

LEGO often hosts free building events where you can create a special item and take it home immediately. These events are always popular, but when the builds are Star Wars themed, they draw especially large crowds – it’s like a bustling cantina!

This weekend, LEGO Stores across the U.S. are letting visitors build a free LEGO Star Wars Lightsaber between 12 and 2 p.m. local time. They’re only making a limited number, so it’s first come, first served!

I’m so excited about this event! It’s designed for kids aged 10 and up, and honestly, it’s perfect for those of us who really get Star Wars and can focus on building – you know, without accidentally sending everything flying like a Jedi gone wild! It’s for builders, not just Force users!

There’s a limit of one lightsaber build per person, and you can’t buy extra LEGO Star Wars Lightsabers. Basically, please don’t try to build a huge collection of free lightsabers!

Just a quick note about scheduling: the event will be held on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, from noon to 2 p.m. at The LEGO Store Garden State in Paramus, New Jersey, and at The LEGO Store University Place in Orem, Utah.
