Lena Headey “Thor” cameo that was cut….

A Lena Headey Thor cameo?

Lena Headey has starred in a variety of films and TV shows, from the fantasy world of Game of Thrones to dramatic roles in The Flood and action movies like the often-overlooked but fantastic Judge Dredd, which stood out during the surge in 3D films following Avatar. Recently, she filmed a cameo appearance in the superhero movie Thor: Love and Thunder, but that scene was ultimately cut from the final film.

Director Taika Waititi had shared that several roles initially planned for the film were either reduced or completely removed. Lena Headey was among those cut, despite Waititi personally asking her to join the project. It seems Angus Sampson, known for “The Lincoln Lawyer,” and Academy Award winner Da’Vine Joy Randolph also filmed scenes that didn’t make the final cut.

Why the Lena Headey Thor cameo was cut….

Heady described being part of a quirky group in the film, though not directly appearing on screen. He, Angus Sampson, and Da’Vine Joy played a trio of witches, originally conceived by Taika Waititi as guides for Thor in the underworld. They were meant to be hilariously unpredictable. The initial idea was that they’d been dismissed from their roles, but it was more a question of their purpose within the story. Ultimately, the intention was to establish a place where they could have their own adventures. He expressed disappointment that their scenes didn’t make it into the final cut.

Sadly, the scene featuring Lena Headey as Thor didn’t appear on the home video release, and the director has indicated it won’t be included in any future releases either.
