Lenovo’s new ultralight laptop blew us away — just 975 grams with a gorgeous Yoga aesthetic

At Windows Central, we’re big fans of laptops that are both thin and lightweight, but they also need to have good battery life, be fast and responsive, and have a vibrant, bright screen.

At last year’s CES, the incredibly light (just 2.18 pounds) and affordable ($899) ASUS Zenbook A14 with Snapdragon processors was a big hit. Now, Lenovo is aiming to compete with that success, unveiling the new Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition at CES 2026.

This PC is incredibly lightweight at just 2.15 pounds (975g) and remarkably thin, measuring only 0.55 inches (13.9mm). It’s even a bit lighter and thinner than the 2024 Zenbook A14. Lenovo was able to achieve this sleek design by using a lightweight magnesium-alloy body and a space-saving haptic touchpad instead of a traditional mechanical one.

This PC is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra X9 processor (Series 3) with Intel Xe graphics, and comes with up to 32GB of fast LPDDR5x RAM and a spacious 2TB SSD. As a Copilot+ PC, it also gives you access to the newest AI features in Windows 11.

We’re eager to test how long this laptop lasts on a single charge with its 75Wh battery. Intel’s newest processors are much more energy-efficient, and Lenovo claims they’ve designed a cooling system that prevents overheating despite the laptop’s compact size.

The Yoga line is visually appealing, featuring gently rounded edges. It includes a built-in 5MP webcam and an infrared sensor for Windows Hello located on a bar above the screen. The keyboard offers comfortable, deep key presses, and the display is excellent.

This laptop features a stunning 14-inch OLED touchscreen with a sharp 2880×1800 resolution. It boasts a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, support for Dolby Vision, and incredibly accurate colors, covering the full sRGB, DCI-P3, and AdobeRGB spectrums. A standout feature is its brightness – it can reach up to 1,100 nits, making it easily viewable even in bright sunlight, which is ideal for working outdoors.

This laptop only has three Thunderbolt 4 ports, so you’ll probably need a good docking station if you want to connect a lot of devices.

Okay, so I’ve been following the Lenovo Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition, and it looks amazing, but it’s probably going to be pricier than the ASUS Zenbook A14. They’re aiming for a launch sometime in the second quarter of 2026, and the starting price will be around $1,500. I’m really digging the color options, though – they’re planning to release it in Seashell, Cosmic Blue, and a really cool Mystic Violet.
