Once players hit the maximum level (70) in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum, many feel unsure about how to get better gear.
You’re now reaching the final stages of the game! The biggest task ahead is preparing for the most challenging content. But figuring out where to begin can be tough.
Well, that’s exactly what we’re going to help you with in this guide.
What Every Player Should Do For Gear At Level 70 | New World: Aeternum – Season 10
Chest Runs

When you reach level 70, your first priority should be completing chest runs, also called world tours. This involves following a specific path to open many chests and collect rewards.
This strategy is great for players just reaching level 70 because it’s relatively safe. Most runs focus on secure paths, helping you collect a lot of loot without taking unnecessary risks!
It’s even more helpful to play with others, as it speeds up combat along the way. Keep an eye on the in-game chat for people asking for help – they’ll often use the abbreviation “WT” – and consider joining them if you can.
We also have a guide to help you with the best way to complete chests. If you’re not sure where to begin, definitely take a look!
Tower of the Sun Farming

Another good way to get gear is to farm the Tower of the Sun in the Nighthaven region.
This tower contains two powerful enemies at the very top. Defeating them gives you a high chance of earning several Legendary items each time!
These powerful enemies reappear quickly – around every 25 seconds – and are relatively easy for a group of players to defeat. This makes teaming up with others a very effective way to collect resources from them.
Just like with chest runs, I usually see people in the in-game chat looking for groups to tackle this tower together. If you team up with others, it makes farming this tower SO much easier!
Try Some PvP!

Since player-versus-player combat (PvP) is a major part of this game, it’s a great way to earn gear. Focus on playing Outpost Rush, Capture the Flag, and 3v3 Arena to get started.
Participating in these activities earns you PvP Experience and Azoth Salt, both of which you can use to get rewards from the PvP Rewards Track.
Okay, so I’ve figured out that you can snag a TON of awesome Legendary gear just by playing the PvP Rewards Track. And it gets even better – there are also Artifacts you can only get from PvP! These Artifacts are seriously powerful, totally unique items with special Perks you won’t find anywhere else in the game. Seriously, don’t sleep on these PvP modes – they’re worth it!
Grind the Catacombs

Looking for more gear through PvE content? Check out the Catacombs! These are randomly generated dungeons designed for groups of up to three players, but strong players can even complete them alone.

Completing these dungeons will reward you with special currencies. You can spend these at the Catacombs Shop in Nighthaven to purchase powerful Legendary gear. Many items belong to different sets, and collecting multiple pieces from the same set grants you bonus benefits, making your character much stronger!
This is a great place to get good equipment, and it’s accessible even for newer level 70 players.
Keep Up With Your Faction

Once you reach Level 70, a great way to get new equipment is by purchasing it from your faction’s shop. However, you’ll need to finish your faction’s quests first to earn tokens, which are used to buy items in the shop.
It’s best to complete at least three Faction quests each day. This lets you take advantage of the three daily bonuses, which will give you bigger rewards.

Just a heads-up for anyone who might not know: as you level up your standing with a Faction, you unlock access to better gear. So keep grinding those quests – it’s the best way to both raise your rank and snag some awesome new items!
Hunt Down Artifacts

After you’ve collected a good amount of powerful Legendary equipment, you should start looking for Artifacts that enhance how your character plays.
As you may recall, Artifacts are special items, each with its own unique benefits, called Perks. You can obtain these primarily by defeating powerful world bosses, finishing challenging Mutated Expeditions, progressing through the Season Track, earning rewards from PvP activities, and opening caches.
Finding the right artifacts to match your character’s build and playstyle is a crucial part of improving your gear at the endgame.
If you’re looking for help, we suggest checking out resources created by the community. For instance, user Eenkii made a helpful spreadsheet listing all the Artifacts from Season 10 and where to find them.
We’re wishing you good luck as you move forward! This step can sometimes be repetitive and depend a lot on chance, so be prepared.
Upgrade with Umbral Crystals

Finally, you can improve your existing gear using Umbral Crystals. You earn these crystals by completing various activities like Mutations, Raids, Catacombs, opening Elite Chests, playing Outpost Rush, Capture the Flag, competing in 3v3 Arenas, and progressing through the PvP Reward Track.
Just a heads-up: you can only earn a maximum of 4000 Umbral Crystals each week. Plus, you can only store up to 4000 at a time.
To upgrade your equipment, simply select the item in your inventory and choose the ‘Upgrade’ option. You’ll then be able to choose how many Umbral Crystals to use and how far to improve the item.

This upgrade system is designed for gear you plan to use for a long time. You can only upgrade items with a Gear Score of at least 700, bringing them up to a Gear Score of 800. This also improves their stats, making it especially helpful for important Artifacts.
This guide is now complete. You’ve learned everything you need to know about finding gear at level 70 in New World: Aeternum for Season 10. Good luck with your build!
