Lewis Capaldi is making a return to the music industry with a brand new single, Survive.
The strong debut track is the Scottish singer’s initial release after a two-year break in his career, which was caused by his struggle with Tourette’s Syndrome.
The announcement arrives following rumors that Lewis’ fresh tune aligns with his highly-anticipated comeback performance at Glastonbury, which marks a two-year interval since he experienced a breakdown during the same festival.
After an emotionally charged performance at Worthy Farm in June 2023, the 28-year-old singer decided to take a break to attend to his mental wellbeing and adapt to the effects of his recent Tourette’s Syndrome diagnosis.
However, on a Friday, he astonished his followers by revealing his return through an Instagram post. He unveiled a piece of the track, as well as a music video directed by Henry Dockrill that accompanied it.
In a lively update, he prefaced his message with “I haven’t posted in a while…” followed by sharing the link to his new song found in his profile details.
The brief clip showcases heartwarming instances spanning Lewis’ life and work, with excerpts from his early years as well.

The recently released tune is characterized as an “unflinchingly truthful piece” that delves into the singer’s struggles with self-doubt and desolation, reflecting a tough phase in his career after his most recent Glastonbury appearance.
The song includes poignant verses such as: ‘Often, I worry about being insufficient… I’ve experienced more than my fair share of Tuesday mornings when rising seems impossible.’
I solemnly pledge that I will endure, even if it costs me my life. I am determined to rise again, no matter what, this is a promise I make.
Once more, Lewis joined forces with his partner Romans on the track. Notably, Romans is renowned for collaborating with Lewis on the smash hit “Someone You Loved.
On Instagram, the star made an exciting announcement that left many of his followers thrilled, as they eagerly expressed their joy about his return in the comment section.
Let’s rephrase that statement as follows: “They wrote: ‘Let’s all rise and offer this young man a well-deserved round of applause, as he bravely stepped back to seek help. He truly sets an example. Welcome back Lewis, we’re thrilled to have you around again. The world seems more vibrant with your presence.’
After God commanded, “There should be light,” it was as if he graciously returned Lewis Capaldi to us. It would not be truthful to say I wasn’t shedding tears. The joy of your return is indescribable! I adore you!!
‘you’ve been so missed. We are all exactly where you left us ❤️’

1. “It’s not that I’m actually shedding tears, but seeing your posts brings a lump to my throat. I’ve truly missed you, but remember to prioritize yourself. It’s great to have you back.”
2. “Your posts don’t make me cry, per se, but they do stir some emotion in me. I’ve been longing for your presence, and it’s wonderful that you’re back. Take care of yourself, too.”
Earlier, it was disclosed that Lewis intends to step back from public life for the sake of his mental wellbeing following his performance at Glastonbury Festival in June 2023. During that show, he faced challenges with his Tourette’s condition.
However, it was previously reported by The Mail on Sunday that Lewis would make his comeback to the limelight with a performance at this year’s festival, taking the “secret slot” on Friday at the Pyramid Stage following Alanis Morissette.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! It seems the talented Scotsman is planning to unveil a new single – marking his first release since Strangers and A Cure For Minds Unwell back in January of last year. This musical gem is timed perfectly for his performance at Glastonbury, making this festival season particularly enticing!
According to a source, Lewis Hamilton has had an extended break and is now prepared to let his followers listen to the projects he’s been developing.
Tomorrow marks a significant milestone for him, as he’s set to unveil a fresh new single and perform on the Pyramid Stage. His enthusiasm is palpable, as he confidently prepares to step back into the limelight with anticipation.

According to the source, Lewis was eagerly ready to start again following his break, as he focused on improving both his mental and physical well-being during this time away from his career.
They mentioned that there’s always some nervousness involved, but he exudes confidence and assurance. He’s operating at full capacity, and there’s no question in their mind that this song is bound to reach the top spot, which will provide a significant lift for Lewis.
Two summers past, finding myself on the hallowed grounds of Glastonbury, I was there, witnessing the return of none other than Lewis after a well-deserved 21-day break. He’d taken time off for rest and rejuvenation, a decision that spoke volumes about his dedication to mental health.
Upon resuming his performance, the singer openly confessed that he was quite nervous or fearful to take the stage, sharing insights into his mental health challenges and ongoing fight with Tourette’s syndrome.
This neurological issue is identified by recurring, uncontrollable sounds and body twitches, often referred to as tics, which may also affect speech patterns and vocal qualities.
During his performance, Lewis admitted that he was finding it tough due to his Tourette’s syndrome, and mentioned that his voice had given out from all the coughing during the event.
Nevertheless, his dedicated followers gathered in support, culminating in a touching finale where they enthusiastically sung his popular song, “Someone You Love,” at the peak of their vocal abilities.
Lewis walked off the stage, expressing his feelings by saying, “Glastonbury, I truly apologize. I’m honestly upset with myself.

Later on, he shared that he intended to ‘step away for an extended period’ since it seemed necessary for him to focus more on improving both his mental and physical well-being.
The artist, scheduled for a global tour, disclosed that he required time to acclimate to the effects of having Tourette’s, stating it was the toughest choice he had ever made in his life.
In April 2023, Lewis documented his battles with the health issue in a film titled “How I’m Living Now,” which was broadcast two months prior to his collapse at Glastonbury.
He hinted that he might return with fresh tunes, posting an update on New Year’s Eve 2023 for his fans. In the message, he stated: “I’m delighted to share that I’ve seen significant progress in both my personal and professional life since I chose to take a break back in June.
Currently, I’ll be focusing on nurturing myself further, perhaps creating some melodies and pausing for a while to ponder over some of the most remarkable years in my existence.
I need to be completely certain that I’m fully ready, before diving back into more performances with passion and dedication, which is my greatest joy!
These tunes are incredibly special to me, and it would break my heart not to have shared them with you. I hope they bring you comfort until we can gather for a harmonious session and sing them together, hopefully not too long from now!
Lewis likewise expressed gratitude towards his fans, mentioning that their response was “unprecedented and has ignited within me an unparalleled enthusiasm for resuming my beloved activities in the near future.
Last month saw him make an appearance on stage for a covert showcase at the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh. This was his initial performance of Worthy Farm.
Title Performer Tom Walker mentioned that Lewis chose to join the intimate concert at the last possible moment, and spectators were invited to stay on for an unexpected artist.
At the fundraising event for Suicide Prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), he sang six songs, one of them being his 2019 hit “Someone You Loved.
In 2019, Lewis put out his initial album titled “Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent,” and in 2023 he followed up with “Broken by Desire to be Heavenly Sent.” This latter album was the swiftest-selling of the year, debuting at the top spot and selling 95,000 copies.
