It’s been over two years since the release of Lies of P, and fans are still waiting for news about a sequel. While the first game got a significant expansion called Overture, many players are eager for a completely new title. A recent interview with NEOWIZ co-CEO Sean Kim didn’t reveal many specifics, but he did confirm that development is moving forward as planned.
We don’t have many details to share right now,” he said to Game Informer. “But the team at Round8 Studio is really enthusiastic about the project and is completely dedicated to making it great.
Now that the Lies of P DLC is winning awards and director Choi Ji-Won is excited about the studio’s next game, we’re confident fans will be just as eager to see what comes next.
Following Ji-Won’s promise last year of a highly enjoyable sequel – and his assurance that fans won’t be let down – it’s hard not to be excited. So far, the only concrete detail we have is a January 2024 job posting suggesting the game might be built using Unreal Engine 5.
Kim expressed his gratitude for the positive reaction to Overture from fans around the world. He described the game’s launch as a significant milestone, demonstrating both the strength of NEOWIZ’s approach to building successful game franchises and the company’s ability to achieve strong results internationally.
The success of Overture was particularly encouraging for Round8 Studio, proving that the Lies of P franchise can compete globally and highlighting the hard work, creativity, and drive of the development team.
In addition to Lies of P 2, NEOWIZ is also publishing new games from two other studios: Wolfeye Studios, the creators of Weird West, and Poland’s Zakazane Studio. Wolfeye is developing a first-person, retro sci-fi role-playing game, and Zakazane Studio is working on a mystery role-playing game set in a noir western world.
