A listing on the PEGI ratings board (noticed by Reddit users) reveals details about Life is Strange: Reunion, the newest game in Square Enix’s story-driven adventure series. Be warned: the game’s description hints at the return of a key character, so those who haven’t finished Double Exposure might want to skip the details to avoid spoilers.
Fans were left wondering if Chloe Price survived the events of the first game, but it appears she’s alive. The story now centers around her attending Caledon University, where she’s struggling with disturbing nightmares and confusing memories, and hoping Max can help. However, things are already tense because a devastating fire is predicted to destroy the campus within three days.
Could the events in Double Exposure be a result of her powers, which now let her travel between dimensions? It’s definitely possible, and wouldn’t be the first time something she did had unexpected consequences in this story.
Rated for mature themes including violence, strong language, drug use, and in-game purchases, Reunion contains realistic violence, though much of it is implied rather than explicitly shown. For example, a burning building features sounds of people calling for help, but doesn’t depict graphic scenes of injury. The game also touches on difficult subjects like suicide.
Similar to Double Exposure, players will be able to buy new outfits and upgrade to a Digital Deluxe edition. The only odd thing is the listed release date of March 27th, 2025, for PlayStation 5, which might be a mistake.
Square Enix hasn’t officially revealed the game’s name yet, but we expect an announcement soon, possibly within the next few months. Since it’s currently only listed for PlayStation 5, we might see it featured at a future State of Play event.
