Lil Jon’s Son DJ Young Slade, 27, Reported Missing in Georgia

Lil Jon is searching for his son.

DJ Young Slade, also known as Nathan Smith, was reported missing in Georgia on February 3rd, according to the Milton Police Department.

Before he was reported missing, the son of the rapper behind “Turn Down for What” left his house on foot without a phone. Authorities believe the 27-year-old may be confused and require help.

On February 4th, Lil Jon, whose full name is Jonathan H. Smith, and his family released a statement through TopMob News, expressing their hope for Nathan’s safe return.

The family has requested privacy and continues to ask for prayers for Nathan’s safe return.

TopMob News is trying to get in touch with DJ Young Slade’s manager for an update, but hasn’t received a response. Police in Milton have confirmed that he is still missing.

DJ Young Slade, following in his father’s footsteps, developed a passion for music early on and turned it into a career.

Lil Jon recalled a time when his son was a baby, unable to talk or walk, just crawling around and playfully hitting the drum pads while Lil Jon made music. He told Paste magazine in 2017 that now his son is a music producer, studying in the Clive Davis program at NYU.

However, the Grammy-winning artist didn’t claim to have launched the DJ’s career, pointing out that his son honed his skills while in college.

He was incredibly impressed with the engineer’s skills and the quality of his work. He also loved seeing the creative ideas and development of the younger people involved – it was truly inspiring.

Even though Lil Jon’s popular songs, like “Get Low,” are still played at parties, the 55-year-old revealed that his son doesn’t always choose to include them on his personal playlists.

He explained to OK magazine in 2024 that it’s the kind of song people just need to hear. While they haven’t discussed his personal feelings about it, he believes his friend enjoys it.
