Lilo & Stitch 2 & Incredibles 3 Release Dates Revealed: What to Know

It’s time to locate your supersuit.

Disney’s new CEO, Josh D’Amaro, revealed on March 18th that both a new Incredibles movie and a sequel to last year’s live-action Lilo & Stitch are planned for release in the summer of 2028.

Oh my gosh, you guys, it’s REALLY happening! Ten years after Incredibles 2 came out in 2018, Pixar finally announced on X that Incredibles 3 is coming to theaters on June 16, 2028! I’ve been waiting FOREVER. It’s a little weird though, because Brad Bird, who wrote and directed the first two, is just writing this one. Apparently, Peter Sohn, the director of Elemental, is taking over as director! I’m still so excited, but it’s definitely a change. I just hope he does the Incredibles justice!

Walt Disney Studios has announced that Lilo & Stitch 2 will be released in theaters on May 26, 2028. Chris Sanders, who played a key role in creating the original Lilo & Stitch in 2002 and co-wrote the 2025 remake, will also write the script for the new sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Sanders will continue to provide the voice for Stitch, the alien also known as Experiment 626. He previously voiced the character in the 2005 animated sequel, Lilo & Stitch: Stitch Has a Glitch.

It’s no surprise a new live-action film about the lovable, if somewhat chaotic, family is coming out. The previous remake was a huge success, earning over $1 billion worldwide.

Oh my gosh, Disney gets it! They totally know how much we all adore Lilo & Stitch, and Alan Bergman, one of the big bosses, actually said they wanted this new movie to bring that same magic back to theaters. He said they really hope we have as much fun watching it as they had making it, and honestly? That just makes me even more excited! It’s like they made it for us, the fans, and I can’t wait to experience it all over again on the big screen!

He also mentioned that the film’s cast and crew, including stars Maia Kealoha, Zach Galifianakis, and Hannah Waddingham, are “thrilled with the positive response to the movie.”

“We’re incredibly grateful for everything,” Bergman said. “I want to thank our talented filmmakers, the amazing cast, and the entire studio team who worked so hard to make this film a success. We’re excited to continue telling these characters’ stories in the future.”

While we eagerly await news about The Incredibles 3 and Lilo & Stitch 2, here’s a look at some other exciting movies coming out soon.

This exciting thriller centers around a mysterious jewel thief (Chris Hemsworth) who partners with an insurance broker for a final, ambitious robbery. The film also stars Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo, Monica Barbaro, and Barry Keoghan.
