Actress Kellie Bright, who plays Linda Carter on EastEnders, recently announced a significant change in her character’s storyline, only a few hours following an incident involving her on-screen mother, Harriet Thorpe (Elaine Knight), where she was criticized for giving alcohol to underage children.

The young individuals identified as Raymond Fox (Michael Jose Pomares Calixte), along with Bert (Elliot Briffett), and Ernie Moon (Cody Briffett), found themselves at the hospital following an incident involving a beverage consumption, which led to the involvement of law enforcement.

Linda felt disheartened as she expressed her apologies to Philip Mitchell, a.k.a. Steve McFadden, and grew increasingly exasperated by Elaine’s self-centered behavior.

Phil found it intriguing that Linda was managing The Queen Vic as a former alcoholic, whereas he himself was now responsible for Nigel Bates’s (Paul Bradley) mental health issues, given his recent struggle with depression.

After pondering this matter, Linda decided to revisit the pub. However, Elaine didn’t seem to feel sorry about the situation, instead shifting the blame onto Denzel Danes (also known as Jaden Ladega) and Joel Marshall (Max Murray), accusing them of taking the punch.

As the police conversed with Raymond’s mom, Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and the twins’ mom, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), at the hospital, Linda expressed regret to Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) and implored that her means of living remain secure.

However, Kim inquired from Linda about what held greater significance – the safety of the kids, or the structure of the pub itself.

By herself, Linda reminisced about joyful moments spent at The Vic with her late husband Mick (played by Danny Dyer), who is believed to have perished after vanishing beneath the water’s surface, accompanied only by their son Johnny (Charlie Suff).

Regardless of the lingering affection associated with the pub, Linda found herself constantly dwelling on the distressing events that transpired during her residence there. Among these were the traumatic incident where she was raped by Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo), and the tragic event in which she took the life of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

Linda informed Johnny that it was no longer possible for her to envision Mick standing next to her at the bar – all she could picture now was distress.

In the end, Linda chose to let go and simplify her life, so she made the decision to put her belongings up for sale. She then informed Elaine about this change.

But Elaine was furious, declaring that this would happen “over my dead body”.

Will Linda go through with her plan?

In the following week, Elaine attempts to convince Linda, but when Elaine unexpectedly faints, what becomes of the family’s situation?
