ITV has announced the return date for Long Last Family, which paused earlier in the year.
Long Lost Family, the popular British show where Davina McCall and Nicky Campbell help people find relatives they’ve lost touch with, began its fifteenth season in September 2025. The first episodes were released at that time.
The remaining episodes of season 15 will premiere on ITV1 on Thursday, January 15th at 9pm, and new episodes will continue to air at that time each week for the next three weeks.
I was really moved by the first episode of season 15 earlier this year. It introduced us to Lee Sharp, a 56-year-old man who had a heartbreaking story – he was left as a baby on the doorstep of an apartment building. It just stayed with me, honestly.
Lee had initially thought he was a foundling, only to discover this wasn’t the case.
The Long Lost Family couldn’t find Lee’s mother, but they did find his brother. Davina surprised him at his home with the news.
Davina explained that the story felt special and original, noting that the character seemed to experience feelings of abandonment even though they hadn’t actually been abandoned as a baby.
Lee expressed his surprise at the news, saying he felt completely alone before realizing others shared his experience. He described the feeling as if he’d been unexpectedly abandoned.

Long Lost Family first aired in 2011, becoming a huge hit with viewers.
The show proved popular and led to several related series. These include ‘Born Without a Trace,’ which documents the journeys of people abandoned as infants as they search for their biological parents, and ‘Long Lost Family: What Happened Next,’ which checks in on families reunited on the original show to see how their lives have evolved since their first encounter.
