Long Lost Warner Bros Cartoon Returns This Year

I noticed Tubi announced a big addition to its streaming library this week – dozens of classic animated series from Warner Bros.! They’re bringing over some really popular shows like Justice League, Ed Edd ‘n Eddy, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, The Powerpuff Girls, and The Batman, just to name a few. It seems Tubi is really digging into the Warner Bros. archives, picking up a lot of shows that used to be on HBO Max. What’s cool is that they’re even bringing back some older shows that were hard to find – one in particular that I know people have been searching for will be available to stream for free next month.

Tubi has secured the rights to a large collection of Looney Tunes content, making it the only place to watch Bugs Bunny and friends for the foreseeable future. In addition to the classic series, Tubi will also offer spin-offs featuring beloved Warner Bros. characters. Titles like Tiny Toon Adventures, Duck Dodgers, Loonatics Unleashed, and The Looney Tunes Show will be available, along with a show that hasn’t been on streaming for a while: Taz-Mania. The original Saturday morning cartoon from 1991 will premiere on Tubi on March 1st.

Taz-Mania Returns

If you’re not familiar with it, Taz-Mania was a cartoon that first aired on Fox in 1991. It offered a fresh, energetic take on the classic Looney Tunes character, the Tasmanian Devil. Although it might be a bit forgotten now, the show ran for four seasons with about sixty-five episodes – a solid run for a Fox Kids program! Unlike the Taz we originally knew, this series gave him a family and a whole new group of friends. The show followed Taz as he worked at a hotel, tackling everyday problems in a quirky and unique way.

After airing sixty-five episodes, Taz-Mania was canceled, likely because it reached the minimum number of episodes needed for traditional television syndication – enough for thirteen weeks of daily airings. Sadly, the show hasn’t gained much traction with streaming services and hasn’t been available online for a while. However, given Tubi’s success with Looney Tunes, there’s hope it might find a new audience there starting next month.

Warner Bros. has been making headlines for reasons other than its classic cartoons. Netflix recently acquired Warner Bros. Discovery in a major entertainment deal. While the future of Warner Bros.’ animated characters is still uncertain, Tubi is currently gaining access to Warner Bros.’ extensive content library.
