Late last week, a quick burst of excitement among fans led them to believe a cryptic statue preview from The Game Awards might be hinting at the upcoming game, Lords of the Fallen 2.
Geoff Keighley has been sharing hints about an event happening near Los Angeles, suggesting a big announcement will be made at the awards show this week.
People have guessed what it might be – everything from a Diablo game to a God of War title – but so far, no one has figured it out.
A puzzling message on X (formerly Twitter) led fans to speculate about a possible announcement for the action RPG Lords of the Fallen 2 last week. However, the CEO of the game’s developer, CI Games, has clarified that this wasn’t the intention.
Marek Tyminski wrote:
We’re flattered so many people think we created that statue, but it wasn’t us – we’re excited about it too! The development team is hoping it’s related to FromSoftware, who we greatly admire and aspire to be like. We have some big announcements coming soon for both Lords of the Fallen and Lords 2, and we’ve been listening to your feedback. We’re ready to share more details soon. Thank you for the amazing response to our August trailer – we’re going to raise the bar even higher now.
It’s likely we’ll hear something from FromSoftware soon. Geoff Keighley has a strong working relationship with the company, and with Elden Ring’s DLC, Nightreign, released, their next major project seems to be The Duskbloods, potentially a Switch 2 exclusive.
It remains to be seen whether The Game Awards can maintain excitement about this announcement leading up to their event this week, or if details will be revealed beforehand.
