The heart is once more calling for Lori Loughlin.
Former Full House star Lori Loughlin will return to her role as Abigail Stanton in the fourteenth season of When Calls the Heart, which is scheduled to premiere in 2027, according to Hallmark Channel.
According to Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming at Hallmark Media, the character of Abigail Stanton has been a favorite among fans of When Calls the Heart since the show began in 2014. In a statement released on December 2nd, Vicary explained that the Hallmark brand focuses on hope, positivity, and connection – themes central to the series. The team decided Season 14 was the appropriate time to bring Abigail’s story back to the show.
This news arrives six years after Lori’s character was removed from the show during its sixth season, following her involvement in the college admissions scandal. She eventually served two months in prison after admitting to conspiring to commit wire and mail fraud.
Around that time, When Calls the Heart paused production—a break described as a “creative hiatus”—to determine how the show would continue after its lead actress departed, with her character written out as having gone missing.
In March 2019, Crown Media Family Networks released a statement saying they were upset by the allegations in the college admissions scandal. As a result, they had ended their working relationship with Lori Loughlin and halted all projects featuring her on their channels, including the show Garage Sale Mysteries, which was produced by another company.

Lori is returning to the show while going through a separation from her husband of 27 years, Mossimo Giannulli. They share two daughters: Bella Rose Giannulli, 27, and Olivia Jade Giannulli, 26. Mossimo also spent time in jail related to a recent scandal.
A representative for the actress confirmed to TopMob News on October 2nd that she and her spouse are separated and taking a break from their marriage. The representative also told People magazine that they haven’t filed for divorce or started any legal proceedings.
In October, several news sources reported that the couple sold their Los Angeles home for $14.9 million, according to public property records.
Although Lori won’t return to When Calls the Heart until 2027, season 13 is scheduled to premiere in 2026. See below for details on other upcoming TV show premieres.

It sounds perfect, right? Except…he’s kind of a grump! Seriously, he’s brutally honest and doesn’t exactly sugarcoat things, which the townspeople definitely aren’t used to. They’re a quirky bunch, always needing something, and he just…irritates them, even though he’s literally the only doctor they have! It’s hilarious and frustrating to watch. He can fix anything medically, but all he wants is peace and quiet. But of course, he gets pulled into all their messy dramas, family feuds, and wild stories. What they don’t know is that he’s hiding a really serious phobia and a painful childhood, which is why he keeps everyone at arm’s length. But honestly, these people are relentless! They’re not giving up on him, and I have a feeling they might just be exactly what he needs, even if he doesn’t realize it yet. I’m completely obsessed with this show!
