The opening act of the Future Games Show Spring Showcase was kicked off by People Can Fly, unveiling their upcoming game titled Lost Rift. The adventure begins with players stranded on a deserted island known as Pioneer’s Landing. They spend their time hunting wildlife and gathering resources to stay alive. However, peace is short-lived when gunfire erupts nearby.
Initially, they intended to investigate the problem, but the trailer abruptly ends due to a sudden monster appearance that frightens the camera. It appears there are supernatural occurrences taking place within this game. Alongside Player versus Environment (PvE) gameplay, players can also participate in traditional Player versus Player (PvP) activities. The atmosphere of survival on an island seems reminiscent of Lord of the Flies, with its violent power struggles.
The game titled “Lost Rift” is set to arrive on PC via Steam Early Access, so keep an eye out for further updates and gameplay previews in the upcoming months (alongside its official release date). Meanwhile, People Can Fly are also busy working on “Gears of War: E-Day”, which is speculated to launch in 2026. They’ve also entered into a collaboration with Sony to create “Project Delta,” based on one of Sony’s existing intellectual properties.
