Love Is Blind’s Jess Vestal Hospitalized

Jess Vestal is in recovery.

The former Love Is Blind contestant recently spent time in the hospital after both she and her daughter, Autumn, got the flu.

Jess explained on Instagram that her whole family was recently hit hard by the flu, which is why she hadn’t been active online. She shared a photo from the doctor’s office and said it was the worst she’d ever felt.

The 30-year-old, who was on season six of a Netflix dating show, is having a tough time recovering from the flu. She has Crohn’s disease, a long-term condition that causes inflammation in the digestive system, especially the intestines, making it harder for her body to fight off illness, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Jess shared that she’s been having a really tough time with her health, finding it difficult for her body to fight off even minor illnesses and becoming dehydrated quickly. After a frightening trip to the emergency room where she received fluids and medication, she’s now recovering. The experience was a stark reminder to appreciate her health and not take it for granted.

It’s been so tough watching Jess’s daughter go through this. She explained that Autumn actually had both strep throat and the flu at the same time – it was a really difficult combination, and I just feel for them both.

She said she bounced back much faster than I did. Being a mom and caring for a sick baby while you’re sick is incredibly tough, she explained.

Jess is glad she and her daughter are healthy now, but she was sad they missed taking their yearly Thanksgiving photos.

The reality TV star shared on Instagram November 27th that their daughter has the flu, so they’re celebrating Thanksgiving in bed this year. They expressed gratitude for their faith, child, dog, family, friends, and the supportive online community, posting some older photos alongside the message.

She wished everyone would take a moment to be grateful for the good things in their lives and the people they share them with.

Nikki Bella, known from Total Bellas, shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest during a wrestling match with Piper Niven in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – implying after her divorce was finalized – she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, as she anticipated future activity and wanted it to appear presentable.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the same year she won an Academy Award for her acting.

I was so moved when she finally shared what she’d been going through. For over ten years, she’d kept it hidden, quietly struggling, and then in 2025 she bravely wrote about her diagnosis on Instagram, explaining she’d been ‘suffering in silence’ all that time.

She explained that growing up, people are often told periods are painful and that pain is just something women have to deal with. This leads many to suffer in silence with something that’s a common experience.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she’d been wearing pants that were too tight, causing a gap in her abdominal muscles.

Someone messaged me on X, which used to be Twitter, saying, ‘Suki, you never tweet anymore!’ and then, completely out of the blue, confessed they’ve been dealing with a hernia! Apparently, it started six months ago because of some seriously tight pants, and they’ve been too embarrassed to mention it. It was…a lot to take in, honestly.

Oh my gosh, I was SO worried when I heard! Apparently, back in April 2025, my absolute favorite, a former star of Beverly Hills, 90210, had to have emergency surgery! His appendix was this close to bursting, can you believe it?! I was just relieved to find out he was recovering. Seriously, the thought of anything happening to him… it was terrifying!

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to it.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground early in her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before collapsing. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

I was absolutely frantic when I heard about Savannah! The NWSL posted on X that she got immediate medical attention right on the field, which was a tiny bit reassuring, and then they rushed her to the hospital to check her out. Thankfully, they said she’s stable and alert, and honestly, that’s all I needed to hear, but I’m still so worried and sending all my positive energy her way!

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 continue to cause him problems even now.

“It’s been awful,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying, “My body has a few quirks and isn’t quite perfect.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor had to be hospitalized after experiencing severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain during an RV trip with a friend that he could only get to the hospital by crawling.

He described a lingering tingling sensation in his knees and toes during a March 2025 episode of his podcast, Trading Secrets. He explained that just a few weeks prior, he was able to squat 295 pounds, but now he can’t even do a squat or stand on one foot without falling. He compared the feeling to having a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be taken out of Madison Square Garden in a wheelchair.

The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was starting to recover.

I was so shocked to learn earlier this year that I was accidentally shot in the face while on a fun birthday outing with my husband, Brendan Rooney. We were celebrating his birthday by going clay pigeon shooting, and unfortunately, an accident happened. It was a really scary experience, but thankfully I’m doing okay.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a gun unsafely. Thankfully, @thebrendanrooney quickly helped, checked her over, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.

I was really worried to hear about my eye, but I wanted to share what the doctors told me. Apparently, a tiny piece of something got stuck behind it, and they don’t want to try and take it out with surgery right now because it’s too dangerous. The good news is I can still see perfectly, and they’re going to keep a close watch on things just in case.

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that she realized how precious life is. She urged everyone to hug their loved ones often, because things can change in an instant.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its often negative side, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” during interviews, Schumer was surprised to see doctors commenting on her appearance online. They suggested she might have Cushing syndrome, potentially caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Schumer to realize she had been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, and she was incredibly relieved to receive a positive health diagnosis. She shared that finding out she was healthy was the best news she could have hoped for.

In December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut during a game and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN how grateful they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and no parent should have to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly started having stroke-like symptoms, unable to speak and experiencing drooping on the right side of her face. Although these symptoms eventually subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now feeling well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the condition affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually subsided. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well and feeling much better, adding that they were grateful he was going to be okay after what she described as a frightening and unexpected situation.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the serious health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he suffered a severe headache one day and lost consciousness before he could take an aspirin, remaining unconscious for twenty days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, became concerned and took him to the hospital. There, doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, saying, “I appreciate every prayer, because I needed every prayer.”

Oh my gosh, you will NOT believe this! Our queen actually died – well, temporarily, of course – while running in the very first challenge on the show! She literally said she ‘died’ during that mile! I was losing it watching it, I thought something truly awful had happened! It was insane!

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, bravely battled a life-threatening medical condition. In a 2019 essay for The New Yorker, she detailed a terrifying experience she had at the gym, describing a sudden, severe headache that quickly escalated. She realized something was seriously wrong and collapsed, experiencing intense pain.

A brain scan revealed she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a stroke caused by bleeding around the brain – due to a ruptured aneurysm. She immediately underwent surgery to repair it, but the pain was excruciating. During her recovery, she struggled with aphasia, finding it difficult to speak coherently.

After a week, her speech recovered, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second surgery. This surgery was unsuccessful, leading to another major bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive procedure, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia has made a full recovery and is now, thankfully, at 100%.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, credits her family with helping her through a difficult time. In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones, who quickly came to her support. She told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi in December 2024 that they were there for her right away.

Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.

Fortunately, Cori is now recovering well. She says she’s feeling great and has been working to regain some motor skills, but is otherwise doing fine.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems, leading to a confusing array of diagnoses. Determined to find answers, Woodley combined traditional medical treatment with holistic approaches, drawing on her background in herbalism. This search for well-being lasted for a decade. The physical discomfort also triggered emotional and psychological challenges, including fear of food and issues with body image and self-identity. Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved, and she is now happy to report that she is very healthy and feeling well.
