Love Lives of Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld & More Sinners Stars

Although many people would likely be eager to work with Michael B. Jordan, especially after his success with the Creed films, his most fruitful collaboration so far has been with director Ryan Coogler.

The director had worked with the actor before on several projects – the 2015 sports drama, both Black Panther movies, and the film Fruitvale Station that launched the actor’s career. Because of their history, the director knew he was the right person for the role in his new movie, Sinners.

Ryan Coogler actually developed the characters of Smoke and Stack – Chicago gangsters who go back to their family’s home in the Mississippi Delta – specifically with a frequent creative partner in mind. The film is set in the 1930s and centers around their plan to open a nightclub.

His approach to the game comes from his experience as a college wide receiver. He told The New York Times last April that having multiple quarterbacks during a season – sometimes four or five – taught him just how crucial strong chemistry is between players.

And he and Jordan were heading up quite the winning squad.

The movie, which tells the story of Smoke and Stack facing supernatural obstacles in the racially segregated South of the Jim Crow era, has already won four Critics Choice Awards. It’s also been nominated for seven Golden Globes in 2026, including awards for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, and Best Actor for Jordan.

Jordan explained to Daryn Carp of TopMob News at the Critics Choice Awards on January 4th that the show’s success came from a strong collaborative spirit among the cast – Hailee Steinfeld, Delroy Lindo, Miles Caton, Francine Maisler, Wunmi Mosaku, and Omar Benson Miller. He described the atmosphere on set as a ‘family environment’ where everyone worked well together and inspired each other.

He explained that they felt they had created something genuine, and he hoped that would continue to resonate with audiences long after the film’s release.

Even though the group seems set to stay together after celebrating their success, many of the actors have also formed close relationships outside of work.

Award season is always so fun to watch, and it’s not just about the stars themselves! I always love keeping an eye on who they’re bringing as their dates – those supportive plus-ones really add to the excitement and make the whole event feel even more special.

It’s been two years since Michael B. Jordan and Lori Harvey broke up, and he’s not actively looking for a new relationship. Jordan, who stars in and directs the upcoming film Sinners as twin gangsters named Smoke and Stack, seems content focusing on his work.

I’m really focused on my work right now,” the Creed actor told GQ in February 2025. “I’d want a partner who easily fits into my lifestyle and where I am in my life. It’s all about timing – you can meet someone great, but if the timing isn’t right, it just won’t work.”

Though fans have reason to believe he’s found his ideal teammate.

Just a few weeks after his interview, the Golden Globe-nominated actor was seen chatting late into the night with actress Taylor Russell in London.

Although they never publicly dated, Jordan and Russell once worked together on a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, planned for 2027. Jordan was set to star in and direct the film, but Russell left the project due to disagreements about its creative direction.

In 2023, actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld started dating Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.

In November 2025, six months after marrying NFL player Morgan Cox, Sadie Steinfeld—who played Mary, Morgan’s ex-girlfriend—told Bustle that the stability and happiness she found in her relationship were beyond words. She expressed deep gratitude for finding her life partner, calling it “the greatest thing in the world” and saying it brought clarity and meaning to her life.

And now the newlyweds are eager to add to their squad, revealing her pregnancy in December.

I’m so thrilled to see Hailee Steinfeld truly coming into her own! She recently shared that she feels like she’s finally becoming the person she’s always envisioned, and a big part of that happiness is being with her partner. It’s just lovely to see her so fulfilled!

Wunmi Mosaku, who was born in Nigeria and grew up in England, sometimes wonders how different her life would be if she hadn’t pursued acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In a 2021 interview with Schon Magazine, she shared that she definitely wouldn’t have met and married her American husband, calling it the best thing that’s ever happened to her.

Mosaku admitted her life could have taken a completely different path. However, she went on to win a BAFTA award in 2016 and subsequently moved to the United States with her husband, who works in the entertainment industry but prefers to stay private.

She appeared in shows like Luther, Lovecraft Country, and Loki, but she felt a particularly strong connection to the role of Annie. Annie is a Hoodoo practitioner and the grieving, estranged wife of a character named Smoke, mourning the loss of their baby.

Becoming a mother is deeply important to Annie, and it’s become deeply important to me too,” Mosaku told W Magazine. She started filming just seven months after having her daughter and felt she could learn a lot from Annie’s experience as a mom.

After over thirty years of marriage, artist and educator Neshormeh Lindo is accustomed to the different sides of her husband’s personality. Delroy Lindo, the London-born actor, told Denver Urban Spectrum in November 2025 that while he tries to keep his work and personal life separate, the two sometimes overlap.

When asked if he ever bases his characters on people he knows, the New York University alumnus jokingly replied that his wife would confirm he does.

I’ve been following this artist for a while now, and it’s fascinating to learn about all her work! I recently discovered she really immersed herself in the role of Delta Slim for the film Sinners – she and Delroy are also proud parents to their son, Damiri, by the way. It’s clear she truly understands and embodies the characters she portrays.

When asked about his natural charisma, he jokingly replied, “You’d have to ask my wife!” He explained that he doesn’t try to be charming, but instead concentrates on finding the relatable human side of each character he portrays, and that might be what comes across as charm.

Peter Dreimanis, who plays a local KKK member named Bert, and Leah Fay Goldstein have been performing together for fifteen years. Dreimanis discovered Goldstein and brought her into their Canadian alternative rock band, July Talk.

Fay Goldstein told the Toronto Star in 2023 that she’d never met anyone quite like Dreimanis. She was struck by the fact that he was the only person she saw wearing cowboy boots in Toronto back in 2010, and she found it very interesting.

Dreimanis, who will also star alongside this person in the 2025 independent film Middle Life, described how they balance each other’s strengths. “I’m the one who likes to jump in and get things done,” he explained, “while they prefer to think things through and observe. That difference really pushes both of us to be better.”

After ten years together, Lola Kirke and her boyfriend, Wyndham Boylan-Garnett, have become skilled at creating lovely music as a couple.

Wyndham and I started our relationship by renting a house in upstate New York. We spent a lot of time drinking wine and teaching ourselves to play guitar, hoping to be able to perform the songs at parties and eventually record them, she told Relix magazine in 2019.

When actress Suki Waterhouse (who often performs as Kirke) isn’t filming shows like Mozart in the Jungle or movies like Gone Girl and Sinners (where she plays Joan, Bert’s wife), she collaborates with musician Boylan-Garnett on albums, including 2018’s Heart Head West. She told Newsweek that they both share a love for older music.
