This story contains spoilers from season one of Hulu’s Love Overboard.
Some relationships just aren’t built to survive dry land.
I’ve been following Love Overboard on Hulu, and it’s amazing! I mean, it’s one thing to fall for someone on a dating show, but it’s another to see if that connection lasts once the cameras are off. I heard from a few of the couples from season one that things got real when filming ended – they really had to figure out if their feelings were genuine, and it wasn’t always easy. It’s fascinating to see what happens after the ‘happily ever after’ is supposed to happen!
Oh my gosh, you guys, Gabby Windey – the Gabby Windey who won Traitors?! – is hosting this AMAZING new show! It’s all happening on this ridiculously huge, multi-million dollar yacht in Malta. Basically, a bunch of singles are trying to find ‘the one,’ but it’s SO much more dramatic than it sounds. Every week, if they aren’t clicking with someone, they don’t just get dumped… they have to walk the plank! Seriously! They fall out of love and straight into the Mediterranean Sea! I’m already obsessed, it sounds insane!
In the season’s final episode, three couples competed for a $100,000 trip around the world: Gia Aldisert and Tim Demirjian, David Fuhrmann and Val Zuluaga, and James Barranca and Lexi Borges.
As a lifestyle expert, I have to say Gia and Tim were a clear fan favorite! The other castaways agreed, and they were thrilled to vote them the most compatible couple. It was fantastic to see them officially crowned the first-ever winners of Love Overboard – a truly deserving couple!
Have Tim and Gia’s relationship struggles eased since returning to everyday life, or have they faced challenges?
Tim recently told People magazine that both the events on the boat and everything that’s happened since the show ended have been incredible. He described both experiences as equally amazing.
Tim, age 30, didn’t reveal whether he and his 23-year-old partner are still a couple. He told fans they’ll have to keep watching to find out what happens with their relationship now that the show is over and they’re back in everyday life.

Despite the recent news, the entrepreneur shared that he and Gia still spend a lot of time together and are looking forward to enjoying their winnings as planned.
We haven’t had a chance to go on the trip yet, but we’re planning it now,” he said. “We had to keep everything secret while we were filming, but now that’s over, we can finally make plans.”
As for how the other couples have navigated life beyond the yacht?

After winning a $100,000 vacation on the first season of the show, Gia and Tim were hesitant to talk about whether their relationship continued after being off the yacht.
Honestly, when I asked about what went down on that boat, Gia just laughed and said it was a complicated story! Tim chimed in, saying a lot happened out there, and since both he and Gia now live in L.A. – she’s only eight minutes from him, can you believe it? – things have been pretty crazy. They both basically said we’ll just have to keep watching to find out what really went on.
Mark these two together…for now.

David caused drama on the show by showing interest in Val even though he was already dating Lauren Ollivierre.
But it seems Lo may have had the last laugh.
Lo shared that the relationship didn’t last after the show ended. Val appeared to confirm the breakup with a vague Instagram post in March 2026, asking for privacy while she dealt with things privately. She said she would share more details when she was ready.

Jake and Christine chose to leave the show before the final challenge, realizing they hadn’t built as strong a connection as the other couples.
The fitness coach and social media manager appeared to confirm they are still a couple by posting affectionate photos from their time filming together in April 2026.

Delaney and Keif didn’t get along very well. They quickly realized they weren’t a good match after meeting on the show, as Delaney’s glamorous, public life clashed with Keif’s more traditional and down-to-earth values.
The duo amicably parted ways before returning to dry land.

Following the show’s finale, Leela revealed she and her partner, a German athlete, are still a couple. In an April 2026 TikTok post, he playfully said they didn’t win the prize money, but they found love with each other.

James and Lexi went their separate ways several months after filming in Malta. The reason?
Lexi explained to Swooon that the distance was tough on their relationship. “I live in Florida and he’s in California,” she said. “I really need physical affection, and being so far apart made things difficult. Eventually, we stopped seeing each other, but it was purely because of the distance.”
Honestly, it’s such a relief to hear they split on good terms! She actually said they’re really working on proving you can be close and friendly with an ex – and it just makes me adore them both even more! It’s so mature and… perfect, honestly. I’m living for this whole vibe!
