Good news for viewers of Tom Ellis’s new show, CIA! It’s been renewed for another season.
This new show, part of the popular FBI franchise, features Lucifer’s Tom Ellis as CIA Agent Colin Glass and Nick Gehlfuss – known from Shameless and Chicago Med – as FBI Special Agent Bill Goodman.
The story centers on an unexpected alliance between two colleagues – a rebellious intelligence officer and a disciplined FBI agent – as they work together to protect the country from various dangers.
The new TV show, CIA, premiered just last month and is already coming back for another season while its first season is still being broadcast. It’s been a hit with fans, attracting 8.4 million viewers across TV and streaming platforms in its first week.

The new show centers around FBI Agent Bill Goodman (Nick Gehlfuss), a stickler for the rules, who is temporarily assigned to a hidden joint CIA/FBI team. There, he’s partnered with Colin Glass (Tom Ellis), a mysterious and unconventional CIA officer.
Working together in New York, Bill and Colin will conduct secret missions, exposing international conspiracies, terrorist groups, and hidden political schemes. As a newcomer to the CIA, Bill will quickly learn the ropes with Colin’s guidance, navigating the dangerous world of espionage. Their work is vital to America’s safety, even though it will always be done in secret and remain unknown to the public.
Joining Ellis and Gehlfuss are Natalee Linez, who starred as Lydia Montgomery in the series Tell Me Lies, and Necar Zadegan, well-known for her work as the lead in Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce.

The show’s renewal arrives as the ‘FBI’ franchise faces some instability, following the cancellation of two spin-offs last year. ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ ended after six seasons in 2025, and ‘FBI: International’ was also cancelled.
A UK broadcaster for the show CIA hasn’t been announced yet. However, since shows like FBI and its spin-offs have previously aired on Sky and NOW in the UK, it’s likely CIA will be available there too, hopefully in the near future!
CIA is currently streaming in the US on CBS, with new episodes weekly.
