When Lydia Plath is pregnant, she’ll make sure her fans are in the know.
Olivia Plath, known from the show Welcome to Plathville, recently shared that she’s tired of people creating fake photos of her appearing pregnant. This comes less than a year after she married her husband, Zac Wyse.
Lydia, 21, recently shared on the Revive Her podcast that she’s frustrated by constant questions about having children. However, she said what really bothers her is people using artificial intelligence to falsely announce her pregnancy.
Kim Plath and Barry Plath’s daughter said she’s used to being in the public eye after six years on television, but it still upsets her when people scrutinize her.
“It really bothers me,” she said. “I worry people will misinterpret things and share inaccurate stories, but using AI to fake a pregnancy photo… I really hope I don’t ever look like that if I’m pregnant.”
And Zac noted that the AI hoax leaked into the couple’s personal life.
He explained that some older followers didn’t understand what Lydia was doing. One of them even messaged her, mistakenly congratulating her on something.
Lydia then interrupted, wondering if she should publicly address the situation.
Okay, so she literally just said, and I’m quoting here because it’s SO important, ‘If you don’t see an announcement pinned on my socials, I am NOT pregnant. Seriously, don’t listen to those crazy AI things saying otherwise, please!’ I mean, can everyone just trust what she says? It’s driving me nuts that people are even entertaining these rumors!
Zac and Lydia have experienced the typical challenges of being newlyweds since their wedding in February, but Lydia has shared that dealing with public attention has been the most difficult part of their marriage.
Zac explained that we’re living in a difficult world, and it’s important to remember that God is in control. He encouraged people to respond with the same grace and love that God shows, and to avoid judging others for making different choices.
Lydia pointed out that they can disconnect when they need a break from the constant noise. She explained, “The benefit of it being online is that we can easily separate work from our personal lives.”
Lydia and Zac aren’t the only celebrities who’ve spoken out against false rumors. Here’s a look at how other stars have handled fan-created theories about themselves…
