Lyrical Media unveils its new venture, Lyrical Games – a privately backed game publishing company dedicated to fostering talented independent game creators who produce exceptional quality games. At present, Lyrical Games boasts three upcoming projects in development with renowned developers like Blackbird Interactive, with more details about these titles set to be shared soon.
Under the leadership of Blake Rochkind, who previously oversaw business development at Take-Two Interactive Software’s Private Division, Lyrical Games is now being run. Rochkind is accompanied by Roger Kurtz, the former production head at Private Division, along with a seasoned team of games publishing experts boasting years of experience from companies such as Devolver Digital, Humble Games, Microsoft, and others.
As stated in the announcement, Lyrical Games intends to back creative and top-tier games that lie within the spectrum between smaller independent studios’ creations and large-scale AAA game productions.
In a recent press statement, Alexander Black, founder and CEO of Lyrical Media, expressed from the start, their aim was to establish an exceptional platform for compelling storytelling, irrespective of format. He further explained that they strive to support passionate game developers by connecting their creative work with those who can be deeply impacted by it. With years of experience, Lyrical Games recognizes the importance of its partners and their vision in shaping its identity.
At Lyrical Games, we strongly feel that developers are usually the best caretakers of their own games. In today’s busy environment, not every developer requires a publisher. We created Lyrical Games to be a kind of publisher that developers want to collaborate with. In this changing scenario, it’s more crucial than ever for both developers and their publishing partners to have a unified, comprehensive vision from the start – not just about the game itself, but also about who the audience is and how we can effectively reach them.
Rochkind went on to say, “In the premium independent or ‘triple-i’ sector, we firmly believe we can provide some of the most favorable contract conditions currently available. We’re not just seeking developers, but collaborators who desire significant input in how their game is presented globally. The developers we work with will always retain ownership of their intellectual property, and our partnerships prioritize collaboration and transparency above everything else.
