Gaming and comics often go hand-in-hand, with many popular games inspiring comic book series that build on their stories and give fans more ways to enjoy those worlds. Now, Mad Cave Studios and Planet Atmos Inc. are joining forces to create a brand-new sci-fi comic series based on the upcoming ExoGP racing game. It promises a fast-paced blend of science fiction, competitive sports, and thrilling survival stories for both readers and gamers.
Launching in April, Planet Atmos: Exordium is a nine-part comic series created by D.R. Bushnell, Rob McEveety, and artists Tommy Lee Edwards, Andrea Cucchi, Giada Marchisio, and John Workman. Developed alongside the upcoming ExoGP game, the series blends the excitement of fast-paced racing with a thrilling corporate conspiracy, immersing readers in a visually stunning world where winning and staying alive go hand in hand.

Get ready to enter a thrilling dystopian world with the new book, Planet Atmos: Exordium. This first installment in the Planet Atmos series is packed with political secrets and corporate power struggles. Issue #1 boasts stunning cover art by Edwards, Cucchi, Dave Johnson, and a special incentive cover by Peach Momoko – you can see them all above!
I recently came across a description of Planet Atmos: Exordium, and it sounds incredible. Apparently, the biggest event on the planet Atmos is ExoGP – a super-fast, but seriously dangerous, racing league that everyone in the galaxy watches. It’s set in a pretty bleak, corporate-controlled future, and the story follows three racers – Rogg, Oz, and Addy – as they compete. It’s not just about winning, though. They quickly get caught up in a lot of political drama and a huge conspiracy that could throw the whole planet into chaos. It sounds like it really explores the dark side of fame and the price of success in a high-stakes world.
Man, I’m really thrilled with how Exordium turned out – especially Andrea! Her art and how she tells the story just kept getting better and better with each of the nine issues. It’s such a relief and I’m excited for readers to finally dive into the world we’ve been crafting for years.
According to Bushnell, the combination of science fiction and sports often leads to compelling stories, frequently involving characters facing tough situations, powerful companies, and extraordinary technology – all used to examine the limits of what people can do. Their new game, Exordium, is their contribution to this exciting blend of genres, and Bushnell says it was a joy to make. They were amazed by the team’s work and appreciative of the talented artists involved.
Planet Atmos: Exordium is set to launch in April from Mad Cave Studios.
