Mad Men’s John Slattery Shares Insight Into Jon Hamm Reunion

John Slattery will always make time for one of his Hollywood besties.

John Slattery, known for his role in Mad Men, recently worked with his former co-star Jon Hamm on the new comedy Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass. The film was selected for the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, and Slattery said he thoroughly enjoyed being back on set with Hamm.

John told Will Marfuggi of TopMob News in an exclusive interview on January 25th in Park City, Utah, that it’s “always super fun” and requires “no overt communication.”

Jon, age 54, had a simple idea to get the 63-year-old involved in the movie. The film centers around a woman named Zoey Deutch who plans to get revenge on her fiancé, Michael Cassidy, after discovering he took advantage of a ‘hall pass’ – an agreement allowing infidelity – before their wedding.

John explained that David Wayne had written a script and wanted him to read it. “He called me and told me about it,” John said. “I immediately told him to send it over.” John was in Budapest at the time, battling jet lag, and received the script in the middle of the night. He read it right away and called David Wayne back immediately. “I loved it,” he said, “and I was on board.”

You know, working with this pair was a joy! They really have a natural comedic timing – we were always on the same page with what was funny. Honestly, I laughed just as hard as they did, and that’s why we ended up collaborating on this project. It was a perfect fit!

It’s been a decade since the show Mad Men finished its seven seasons in 2015, and the two stars, Jon and John, are still close friends. This raises the question: would they ever be open to playing their advertising executive characters again?

Okay, so Jon Hamm said this, and honestly, it killed me a little. He basically said he doesn’t want to revisit Mad Men, which, fine, he’s earned that!
