Madame Blanc Mysteries 2025 Christmas special first look teases “most perilous challenge yet”

A brand-new trailer has given fans of the Madame Blanc Mysteries a sneak peek at the 2025 Christmas special, promising an exciting and dramatic episode.

This special Christmas episode, lasting two hours, sees the characters get into a tricky situation at a Christmas event held at the Musée de Sainte Victoire. It’s being described as Jean’s most dangerous adventure so far.

The trailer opens with Jean, played by Sally Lindsay, being asked to verify the authenticity of a beautiful, antique box that once belonged to Marie Antoinette. She opens it and is shocked to find a ticking bomb inside.

Panic sets in when Jean and her team discover they only have 90 minutes before an explosion. A new character, George Alfonse, warns them that the device contains enough explosive power to completely destroy the museum.

After a gunshot rings out and someone is wounded, Jean declares, “We need to stay united – there’s a killer in our midst.”

Joining Lindsay in the holiday special of the beloved mystery series are familiar faces like Steve Edge as Dom Hayes, Sue Holderness and Robin Askwith as Judith and Jeremy Lloyd-James, Alex Gaumond as Chief of Police André Caron, Sue Vincent as Gloria Beaushaw, and Tony Robinson as Uncle Patrick.

Joining the cast along with Thomson (known from Coronation Street) are Kacey Ainsworth (Grantchester), Raji James (Hollyoaks), and Manjinder Virk (Trigger Point).

We know a lot about the 2025 Christmas special, but it’s still unclear if the show will be back for another season.

Lindsay has previously expressed her strong commitment to the show, stating she has no plans to leave as long as the show wants her. She loves her work on it and considers it a very important part of her life, so she’ll continue as long as she’s asked.

It’s become a really big part of our lives, which is wonderful. Steve and I both enjoy it – he does the music, so it’s something we share as a couple. Plus, the boys always join us on vacation, and it’s just fantastic to have them there.

“It’s just really special, so I’ll drag it out as long as they want me to.”
